In the small coastal town of Clearwater, Aston Carter is looking for a fresh start. After moving here with his mother, he’s struggling to find his place, haunted by the loss of his father and unsure of where he fits in the world. Everything changes when he meets Eli Taylor—an introverted young man who is wrestling with his own inner battles, torn between crushing family expectations and the pull of his heart.

Aston and Eli’s connection is undeniable, but it’s complicated by secrets, fears, and the pressures that threaten to tear them apart at every turn. As they navigate friendship, love, and the weight of their identities, the two boys find themselves on the brink of something truly life-changing.

But not all storms can be seen on the horizon. When an unexpected turn of events alters their course, Aston finds himself grappling with the meaning of life and love.

Clearwater is a heartfelt coming-of-age exploration of love, identity, and the struggles that shape who we are. It’s a story of finding hope in the most unexpected places and realizing that love can transform even the darkest moments.

I liked this book for the most part - lovable characters, good plot, dramatic, funny, sweet…heart breaking. What I didn’t like was the AI narration. It made everything in the story that should normally be full of emotion sound very stiff and robotic. Sometimes the narration would pronounce the main characters’s name different from one moment to the next. Overall, however, I liked this story a lot.

Good but unemotional narration

I loved the characters, the plot and the slow burn love story of the 3 boys. Yes 3 boys, I think Jordan was as much of a part of Aston’s life as Isaac was. Some parents are amazing and others have a problem accepting things that are different. We learn to love the parents that are accepting and have hope that the others will someday understand. An excellent book to read but I hated the narration by a robot voice.

A great mm love story
