Love the narrator
I have been listening to this series of books, and love the narrator's voice, the main characters are interesting, and the love story between Kate and Richard amusing.
Although they were written a while ago, they are still fresh.

Enjoyable, but not as good as the previous books
It had the requisite mix of deceit, robbery, death and fraud to make it entertaining, but the overly frequent similes became irritating.
I don't know if Chloe Massey had been instructed to change her narration style, but this time round it was lacking in intonation, which detracted from the delivery of the story, with a couple of bizarre pronunciations. At least the awful Scouse accent remained consistent though.
It can't have been that bad, I've downloaded the next in the series.

Good story spoiled by poor narration
A narration which dulls the brain. Monotone and poor phrasing spoil a good story. Neither my wife nor I enjoyed this and that’s a first for a McDermid.

Gripping!
I thoroughly enjoyed this book, kept me gripped all the way through. Great Reading.
Quite intense, with plots, subplots, keeping the reader glued to the different story lines, hoping that the Heroine comes out in one piece.
just when you think you've solved the mystery it's takes you on another track.
Brilliant!

Not as good as the Tony Hill series
I have generally been disappointed with this series of books. The characters are very weak, and the storylines not very believable. Keep reading them in the hope they will get better. Narration is excellent

Narrator
Unfortunately. Bad narration ruined a good book . Like an automaton she reads without pause from punctuation. And as if she is bored !

Great 90's nostaglia
Great story from the decade when "women can and will" didn't mean botox and silicon implates. That's one of reason why it puzzles me why so many female narrators sounds like the story is just boring the s*** out of them. It's so flat and unengaging read and it dosn't fit the story at all, witch is fast moving and even inclueds some level of action. So many femal narrators read like it's a boring manual for a dishwater or somthing similar. Get a grip, and lead us through the storys with more feeling and engagement!!!!
