Typical comic genius

The Jeeves and Wooster books are, probably, the funniest stories ever written. You read (or listen), you laugh, and you don't regret laughing afterwards. The fact that the plots usually follow the same general formula doesn't rate.

There are several narrators who have recorded themselves reading the Jeeves stories, but Jonathan Cecil is, without a doubt, the real stuff. He is the best. The characters
and language come to life. Enjoy!

Excellent

Jonathan Cecil understands the humor of Wodehouse which makes for a very enjoyable listen. Our entire family, teens included, have listened several times!

The consummate wordsmith!

The reason I never tire of P. G. Wodehouse is, no doubt, his command of the language. No one surpasses his hilarity and variety in turn of phrase - not to mention his unrivaled word-smithery. Whenever I’m feeling gloomy, a spot of P.G. Wodehouse, particularly Jeeves and Wooster, puts me right.
“More P.G. Wodehouse, madam?”
“Oh, raTHA!”

Never fails

Bertie never fails to tell a great story, and Jonathan Cecil never fails to relate it wonderfully.

Very, Very Good Jeeves

P.G. Wodehouse is not for every mood. But, when you're in need of something truly, truly silly, funny, witty and outrageous, this author can't be beat. And this narrator does a wonderful job bringing Bertie, Jeeves, the Aunts, and all the twits to hilarious life. Good for a smile or a belly laugh, "Very Good, Jeeves" is good enough for me!

Always a gem

I have never gotten tired of the Jeeves and Wooster books. Mr. Wodehouse' turn of phrase is as impeccable as it is funny. Mr. Cecil's ability to narrate is top drawer!

Very good Jeeves

This is a fun, silly, quick little tale with lots of British-isms (which I love: old bean/old stick and that sort) that makes for good beach reading!! Of course I adore a British accent and this narrator was perfect for the material!! Recommend and enjoyable!!

One of the best

I feel like anyone aspiring to a career in comedy or comedy writing would do well to listen to the adventures of Bertie Wooster and Jeeves over and over again. Nothing I've read has ever made me laugh so loudly and consistently as this series. Jonathan Cecil is perfect at what he does and makes the experience even better. Unless you are a complete cynic, or just dead inside...you'll be sure to love this book!

Jonathan Cecil brings Bertie and Jeeves to life

It's fluffy stuff but oh so sweet! Do I pity those who have to put up with Bertie's undeserved happiness in life, or do I pity Bertie who is unknowingly putty in Jeeve's hands. The genius of the book is that I do both...at the same time, laughing all the way.
