Publisher's summary

A malicious spectre haunts the Parisian Opera house. This murderous fiend speaks through walls, abducts innocents through mirrors, and holds the opera management in a cruel state of hostage. But when this monster falls for the beautiful Christine Daae, his powers of attractive enticement and malevolent mayhem all come to the surface. Who can put an end to this reign of terror? Discover the wonders of Gaston Leroux's gothic thriller in a way that will tantalize the senses. The actual unabridged novel is by far the best way to experience the story of the haunting yet humanistic Phantom of the Opera.

Great book & wonderful narration

This is my favorite book for so many reasons, and I am consequently picky regarding an its narrating. Mr. Harrison, the narrator, could hardly have been closer to perfect. Unreservedly recommend this narration of this excellent book.

Gothic classic

Brilliant performance of Gaston Leroux's timeless tale. Many character voices. All hail Don Juan, Triumphant!

Narrator was AMAZING!!

The narrator did an excellent job conveying the depth of emotion, pain, and passion in this story as well as the humor at the appropriate moments. Though I was not a fan of the horror in the story, I would listen again just to hear the imaginative narration. I hope one day I can retell a story so we'll!

AMAZING

I now understand why Andrew Lloyd Webber devoted his life's work to bringing this to the stage. It is SO theatrical!

The musical is a nice adaption of the book, but is still by far behind it!

I bought this particular reading, because I listened to BJ narrate "The Count Of Monte Cristo" I have to say he does just as well of job at it. I love how into it he gets, it's as if he were actually there.

Favorite book ever

My absolutely favorite book. I've listened to the abridged version many times. I couldn't pass on the opportunity to get the full version finally. I highly recommend this book to anyone and everyone. Just don't approach this book with the movies, or the musical in mind. Although I do enjoy the musical, exceptions are made for the stage. The movies. except the Lan Channy black and white silent film, are abominations. The performance is great, I only give it four stars because the French characters don't have French accents.
