A czekhov classic love it

Where does 'The Kiss' and 'The Problem' rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

For those who love Czekhov's this is one of his best work and this is a very good version of that work.

What was one of the most memorable moments of 'The Kiss' and 'The Problem'?

The mystery veiled in the different rooms, as the hero searching for the woman whom he thinks he loves and the woman who he thinks loves him.

What about John William Cawthorne’s performance did you like?

Wonderful as useually, he is an actor more than a narrator.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

The is a sad humour to the story. One neither laughs or cries however one does get caught up in the irony.

Any additional comments?

Nicely put together for the price.

Great Stories with Acceptable Narration

These are two very good Chekhov short stories with acceptable narration. Both of these are wonderful examples of Chekhov shorts. They both show dramatic character change through internal dialog. The only downside is the narration, which is better than most of the Roberson Audio Publications titles I have listened to, but it is still not great narration. At just 63 cents this was definitely worth it (don’t use a full credit), but these stories deserve a better presentation.

Not my favorite Chek

Any additional comments?

These stories had a beginning a middle and no end. Both main characters had defeatist attitudes, not something I'm very fond of.

Wonderful story- unbearable narration

I teach "The Problem" and was looking for a better version than the audivox one I use on youtube. I tried this one and the narrator is so nasally and formal it is not pleasant to listen to. Oh well.

Great story ruined by a poor narration.

Chekhov is great. The narrator isn't. His nasally tone is grating and the rhythm is off.
