Brief but profound

Like a poet C.S. Lewis manages to squeeze a tomes worth of profundity into a few short essays by seeing to the heart of a matter and speaking the truth of it.

Excellent teaching

C. A. Lewis wrote some great essays here. They are relevant to the church today. These essays deal with women pastors, speaking in tongues, modern worship music and much more. Really enjoyed these.

Quick, enjoyable, insightful read

I don’t usually know what exactly will be discussed in a C.S. Lewis book; usually the titles do not give a good guess on the topic. I would say the same here, but it doesn’t take away from the book; in fact, it further adds to the point. From what was read (heard), it seems the majority was not exactly on the Church per say, but rather the role of women in the Church, whether they are allowed to be priests or not, etc. In general, I think Lewis indicated his point very well and concisely. Worth the read to hear more about the topic of women, the role of priesthood, etc. in the Church.

In logic impeccable, in eloquence unsurpassed.

The man does not only speak of music...he speaks music. There is only one C.S. Lewis...

Excellent narration of a classic. After reading this, I’d like to delve in to other Lewis books.

Classic Lewis

Unfortunately Lewis never seemed to be aware of The One True Church, Eastern Orthodoxy, he does make apt comments on Protestantism and Roman Catholicism

Some interesting thoughts in a short book

This very short book is an interesting collection of thoughts on certain topics that apply more to the Anglican or Episcopal churches. however there is value for others as well. I found one of his arguments particularly compelling, and have changed my perspective as a result.
