If. Poem by Rudyard Kipling

Rudyard Kipling plainly and with great insight describes what masculinity really is, He has a skill at succinctness and plain talking. I printed this poem up and gave it to my son when he was young. He still has the poem.

Standards

Where does IF rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

If is a poem by Kipling giving advice to his son. A classic that was once frowned upon but is now making a comeback.

What does Michael Caine bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

A beautiful voice with excellent diction

Any additional comments?

Nothing more to say. I love the poem and always have since i first read it

IF

Loved it. A beautiful poem. I have read it many times but, hearing it so beautifully spoken, is wonderful.

Epic poetry that every person should listen to understand the way a life can be lead with a small and strong fire within...

A sea compressed in a drop of water

The poems are more powerful than prose. They convey a wisdom of life time in a few lines. The value of this poem can be understood only by a few. I know a man who has lived by memorising this poem to heart.- Haresh Raichura

Kipling & Caine - perfect pairing

beautiful poem, performed by a narrator who would capture my mind just reading a dictionary of medical terminology.

Doesn't Play Through Amazon Echo!!

Would you try another book written by Rudyard Kipling or narrated by Michael Caine?

Maybe if this is fixed, otherwise no.

What other book might you compare IF to, and why?

Poetry books, as this is what they are.

How could the performance have been better?

It could have played, like all the other books I've bought have....

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Disappointment at the lack of playability on Amazon Echo...

Any additional comments?

I'm sure by now you'll see where I'm going with this?
