I wish I had Audible in high school!

I first read this book more than 20 years ago and unfortunately, I wasn't ready for it. I rarely read any fiction these days and found myself looking for some leisure reading for a change, and in my native language (also for a change). I decided to give the Quijote a try. Before I knew it, I found myself hooked to the story and, oh my, do I love this book! I enjoyed the narration, the story, the characters, everything. In between listening sessions, I was catching up on the historical Cervantes and the history of Spain in the 16th and 17th Centuries. This book is truly a must-read for all. There are minor errors that should have been corrected in editing but I am just nitpicking. I wish Audible brings in more Spanish classics.

Essential, unmissable and comic

What did you like best about this story?

I love this book because, first of all, it's a classic. The book has comic moments and serious moments. Allows the reader to make an analysis on the boundaries between sanity and madness.

What about Alejandro Magnone’s performance did you like?

Everthing. I think he gave "life" to the story, and speak spanish very clear, what allows to me understand the most part of the story.

I don't know.

How witty the story really is. And the narrator has a great domain of our language and I loved his pronunciation

Well, him of course, but greatly enjoyed the story of the two friends and their love game with a tragic result

It seemed as if the story ended in this volume. Not sure what volume II contains so I am a bit apprehensive until I checked in print first

accent of reader does not match the story

A classic which I wanted to "listen to". However, the performance does not have a Spanish accent.

Si es sudamericano si, personalmente no me puedo acostumbrar al acento.

Monotona y sin la entonación que pienso requiere la obra. Si eres español se te hace poco creíble y por lo tanto difícil meterte en la historia. Un poco como los doblajes mejicanos de películas, no tanto, pero la misma sensación.

If you really want to listen take 5 cups of coffee before start... Don Quijote is a very good book, but it's already difficult by reading it, listening it I thought it would be better, well, I was wrong, took me a long time to finish and I slept through a lot of times...

es una MUY BUENA interpretación.

tiene diferentes intonaciones para los distintos personajes. No puedo más imaginar otra voz para Sancho Panza o para el ingenioso hidalgo. El libro es de lo más recomendable. Más allá de una rica y graciosa historia podrás aprender sobre la Europa de los Moros, españa, costumbres, la lengua y relaciones sociales en general.

Sigue siendo todo un clásico

Con todo y el español antiguo en que fue escrito, así como la época en que se volvió famoso y que desde entonces probablemente sigue siendo considerado uno de los mejores libros de la lengua española, no se puede negar lo entretenido que es y seguramente seguirá siendo considerado un clásico por muchos años más.

Buena obra

La lectura y la interpretación en buena en general, aunque tienen varios errores que olvidaron editar. Aún así el audio es recomendable
