Classic well-read

For some reason I was never required to read this is school, so when I saw it on list of classics, I bought it on Audible. It was a wonderful story of political corruption and societal norms. The narrator was great and his varying voices for the characters kept my interest.

animal farm or 2020

Classic. 2020---its like we are living it. our media in lock step with liberal ideology breath life into the way in which truth is played against a population who will believe most anything. never thought I would see this in my lifetime.

More like a prophecy

Read and it feel like prophecy for what we are experiencing right now. It's so unfortunate that we continue in this manner.

good read, great story telling. A rare kind of story. Orwell blessed us with this one. I would recommend this book to anyone who believes communism works. "two legs bad, four legs good" × infinity - 🐑

Should be required reading in schools

Absolutely chilling the way this story ends, and the progression with which we the reader see the increasingly horrifying and tyrannical changes to the farm. But the animals are kept docile and stupid through the combined efforts of limited education and constant lying and falsified propaganda to lull them into compliance… but with an ever present threat of horrible violence if the soft words fail to squash any thought of disobedience or questioning. The parallels this story holds to the nuances of reality in our society all around us can be seen easily and in so many forms. This should be required reading in schools.

But some are more equal than others. I doubt any socialist, Marxist or communist has read this book given the popularity of these movements as of late.
Your liberators will be wielding whips before you know it.

Some applicability to 2020

Written in 1945 the parable was limited some to known history but some accurate forward thinking applies. It will be interesting to watch if the marxism developing in 2020 perfects the view or follows pattern and turns the oppressed into being themselves oppressors as all humans are seen as equal but some humans become more equal than others.

Where does Animal Farm rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

The nature of man in animal form. Ideology, loyalty, and devotion become strings for a corrupt puppet master. What I love is how this story continues to be relevant regardless of how much time passes. Network News, Politicians, Social organizations can all be seen on the farm. Highly recommended!

Think for yourself before someone does it for you

Is it now more clear why we are warned to not be a sheep when it comes to our country’s government?!

Authoritarianism/communism does not come in the light of day, but slithers in under cover of night.

Classic; a must read;

Loved it. A great reminder that those in power can get there by slowly taking away freedoms and taking advantage if the less educated.
