Publisher's Summary

Book two in the Thomas Elkin series

When some lines blur, others become crystal clear.

Absolutely smitten, Thomas Elkin and Cooper Jones have decided they're prepared to give a relationship a try.

What they're not prepared for is the reaction from their families, who try to force them apart. Both men are about to learn that there are lines that define us. Sometimes the lines blur, sometimes the lines become crystal clear.

Perfection

This series has always been my go-to reread. My annual Christmas to New Year's read. It's always been comforting, wrapping my heart in warmth, giving me a laugh. I didn't think I could love it any more, but Nick J. Russo has just added a new dimension to Tom and Cooper's story and it's perfection. I am in awe. I have never teared up when reading, especially this middle book in the series, but the narration was just so spot-on and full of life, love and emotion. If I could give this audio book a zillion stars, I would.

loved it 👍👍

This is a terrific series with two strong main characters. Nick Russo does a fantastic job bringing both Thomas Elkin and Cooper Jones to life.

Enjoyed book 2 just as much as book 1.

Love this series!

Review

In book two Tom and Cooper are established as a couple, but there are obstacles to overcome.

Tom and his ex-wife and son. Cooper and his friends and his family.

Tom and Cooper also have to work out living arrangements. Tom just can’t quite find the words to convince Cooper to move into his apartment.

**

In a lovely extension we get to move into the meat and potatoes of their relationship. Beyond the heat of attraction into the seriousness and the emotion.

I really love how NR Walker allows us to see her characters grow and change as the relationship changes. In this case using Tom’s asking Cooper to move in with him as a way to guage where he’s at emotionally is a very clever tool that both illustrates that Tom may still have some reservations about opening his heart and Cooper might also still be craving some independence.

The smexy times are super hot, too!

This is a wonderful sequel and the new cover is beautiful!

Audio

Nick – as usual – is amazing. He has a fantastic ability to grab the listener without being obtrusive. He does a terrific job making all the characters unique.

It's an I love you thing

Tom and Cooper are just everything. Their love, their sass, their perfection when they are together, is just a beautiful thing to read about. This is the second book in their trilogy and must be read in order. I love how Cooper can keep Tom on his toes, keep him guessing, and I love how perfect they are together. Tom and Cooper want to be openly together, which means telling both of their families. There is some humor, plenty of emotion, some tears, and plenty of love in this one too. Can't wait to get the final book in audio!

BUY THIS SERIES

I'm only going to ask one thing: Have you already purchased Elements of Retrofit or Clarity of Lines in audio format? Nick J. Russo is simply a pleasure to listen to, with great character voices, timing, and a terrific pace. Frankly, this is a no-brainer: buy this series.

I love this series more every time I read it. Told again (mainly) from Tom's single POV (though Cooper does get his own chapter at the end 😘), this contemporary romance features an age gap that doesn't really matter, plenty of steamy scenes, some light, low angst, and a wonderful happy for now ending.

I can hardly wait for book 3: Sense of Place to release on audio!

Highly recommended!

Absolutely love these two !

These two sizzle - from the beginning - and this continues throughout the series... they have the usual age difference angst - with a twist - Tom has a son the same age as Cooper. That said, you can see from the beginning Cooper is an old soul. This 2nd book shows a fair take at the evolution of this love and it's lovely. Each book gets better and better in this three book series! Love NR Walker, nothing can top her Red Dirt Heart Series - still my favorite MM series - but Cooper and Tom in these three books are a close second - do not miss these, I own almost all NR's books in e-book and audible - and find her narrators, Joel Leslie and Nick J. Russo to be excellent! Don't hesitate - Jump!!!

it's an "I love you" thing...

This was a good continuation of Cooper and Tom's story. I did not enjoy it as much as the first book, but it was still good to get more of their story.

Good to catch up with the characters

I enjoyed catching up with these characters, but because you are in the middle of their story it wasn’t as engaging as the first book which was the build up and exciting start of their relationship. Still good though!

Well done Mr Russo...

Wonderful narration by Nick J. Russo, and as this is an emotionally charged story, his interpretation was perfection [thank goodness Nic decided that a change of narrator was in order for this series]. The drafting table made several appearances 😉. The cost may be an issue for some people...quite expensive for a 3 hour+ narration really, but I got the audio for a cheaper price cos I bought the book back in 2015.

***Book Review 2015***

5 stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 and 5 ♥♥♥♥♥ from me.... another delightful, delicious instalment of Nic's Thomas Elkin series of books. I read the first one on a plane from London to Lisbon...this one I stopped decorating the Christmas tree and just sat down and read it, and it couldn't have been more perfect, sigh.

I really do think that Cooper is the adult in this relationship...."How did you get so wise?" "I'm just smart like that". I kissed him with smiling lips. "You're just smug like that." "It's a Gen Y thing?" "It's a Cooper Jones thing". It has to be said that both guys are completely head over heels with each other, and as Cooper says "I've fallen in love with you, and if gender doesn't matter, then neither should age".

In this story, Cooper has his work cut out trying to convince Tom's jealous ex wife Sofia that he and Tom are really together and are the 'real deal' (and luckily they have Ryan's support)....and that's before they have to tell both sets of parents that they are a couple (and in Tom's case, he actually needs to 'come out' to his Mum and Dad as well), but as usual, the course of true love does not run smoothly for either of them, and there will be lots of tears before we reach the end of the tale. Congrats Nic, another wonderful story. ♡♡♡

I need more

Loved diving into this second installment of the Thomas Elkin series.

I laughed, I cried, I got frustrated at people, I fell more in love with Thomas and Cooper - I mean, it is a Cooper Jones thing to love him even more than before.

Nick Russo does a great job telling this story, and now I need the third book ASAP!
