When Hadley's stepdad creeps into her room one night, she knows she has to run away from the only home she's ever known before he steals her innocence. She doesn't know where she's going, only that she has to run. When Damon sees a frightened girl run into the bar looking like a fish out of water, he knows he has to help her. She's the most beautiful little thing he's ever seen. She's an angel, but the problem is he's a felon, and he has no business claiming such an innocent creature. That doesn't stop him from wanting to, though.

Hadley finds Damon

Hadley realized she waited too long to leave when her stepfather creeped in her room. She must get out before he stills what she still holds. She has no idea where to go, she is out of place in the bar. Damon see the frightened girl, she is the most beautiful girl he has ever seen, he must help her.

She is too innocent for him. Damon is a likable character even though he has been in jail, he is just what she needs to stand up to her stepfather.

Trust your instincts.

I really liked this story. It was entertaining and enjoyable even with the mentions of drug abuse, assault, and attempted assault. The characters were interesting and likable for the most part. Randall was a piece of poo and totally deserved whatever consequences that he received. Hadley’s mom was pretty much the same. Hadley was used to fending for herself but still hoped that her mom would help her. Her stepdad was a slimeball and because of his actions she ended up on the street looking for somewhere to go to figure out her next step. Damon saw Hadley and stepped up to help her. They were attracted to each other immediately, but Damon was focused on finding out what she was running from. He was protective and possessive but also sweet. Damon offered Hadley safety and options that she greatly appreciated. The way that they got to know each other was great. The amount of time that they were able to spend together definitely helped. Damon had taken steps to ensure Hadley’s safety as much as possible. There was some drama and angst but it resolved well. I liked how the story ended. I recommend reading this book.

Listening to the audiobook was also very enjoyable. The narrator did a great job of differentiating the voices for the characters which helped bring the story to life. I recommend listening to this audiobook as well.

Loved it

I totally loved this story, the narrator was awesome, she was able to get so many emotions across. Hadley was so sweet and innocent. Damon is so very opposite, I think that’s why they work so well together. I know I want to listen to more of these short stories.

Will Damon and Hadley find happiness

Hadley has just turned 18 years old and wanted a job so she could leave her home, when something she is not willing to deal with late one night leaves her out on the street without shoes are real clothes when she runs into a bar to hide out. Sitting in the same bar was Damon a auto mechanic/ ex con he takes one look at the young woman and feels he has to protect her because he wants her more than anyone. When she sees some comes through the door and when he turns to look she is gone and he goes after her and tells her he will make sure she is safe he took her home with him and she agreed he offers her own bedroom. Hadley gets a job at an Italian restaurant next to his place of business so that he could keep her safe and hope that she would pick him and not another. He could only hope and Hadley felt the same way. Things start to happen fast when she does get a job and is doing well until her stepfather is sitting at her station one day and threatened her. Drama, suspense, romance, violence. I read a copy via BookFunnel without obligation. I volunteered an honest review.

Run to me

Ok, so I already have this book and can I tell you how super excited I was to get the audio book to accompany it?! I love reading her books on my own, but being read to just takes me back to when I was a kid and I love it. Emma did another great job in highlighting the special connection that two people can share. These two...so sweet. This poor girl. I felt so bad for her, her situation was a scary one and I am so sorry she had to go through that.

Running away from a bad situation she finds a safe haven in his arms.

Literally carrying her away to peace just made my insides go all mushy. I thought that this pair had so much together, so much sweetness but plenty of heat as they both want more. I felt like they were real and the story is a full one. They had it all and when that heat was turned up, I needed a fan! I loved this as always and am so happy another great couple found their way together. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I Enjoyed It

I enjoyed this book. It's the first I've read/heard by this author. The storyline was interesting and I was hooked from the start as Hadley makes a desperate escape from her home at night when her stepfather sneaks into her bedroom and tries to force himself on her. Ducking in to an open bar for safety, she is spotted by Damon, who immediately steps in to help her and offers her his spare bedroom when she has no where to go. Wonderful chemistry between the two of them. He thinks she is an angel and the most beautiful girl he's ever seen. But he's a felon and doesn't think she'll want him if she knew his past. Hadley thinks Damon is the kindest, most thoughtful person she's ever met, and when she understands he's attracted to her, she makes her own attraction to him clear.

I listened to this as an audiobook, narrated by Erika Annette. She did a good job with the narration. But I was disappointed to not have a strong male voice to narrate Damon as he was tall, muscled, and intimidating, and her "male" voice didn't do it for me. But this was a short book and by the end it didn't bother me anymore.
