This was quick and cute. No Insta-love, thank you... but the slow build was missing, too. All the skin-to-skin centered around an earned spanking. Was that the only way they made love? I got enough of each character's history to understand their communication disconnect so the ending scenes were believable. There's a HEA and it ends pretty much when that point is established.

Kenneth Solin did a crack-up job. Thumbs Up there!

Great read

Claimed by the Mountain Man by Amelia Smarts was a good read. I enjoyed reading Nettie and Jack's story. Nettie flees her life after her husband dies but finds herself in trouble. That was when she meets Jack and nothing goes as she's planned. This was a good read.

Steamy historical

Great listen. Jack and Nettie are interesting characters. The narrator did an amazing job with his performance. I received a free review copy of this audiobook at my request and I have voluntarily left this review.

Pretty good

I like the story. I didn't love the narrator at first but he grew on me. I do wish there was more hotness to go with all the spanking. Over all it was a good short listen can't go wrong with a dominate mountain man:) this is an unbiased review free from the author thank you!

His Favorite Catch!

Naughty Nettie vs. Trapper Jack... both have a painful past, both extremely headstrong, one has a palm that likes to whip a bare butt! When listening, think in terms of the past not current times and it may help you get by any apprehension that you may feel towards Jack's behavior.
This is a decent but shorter than normal book. The narrator does a great job capturing Trapper Jack.

Yum mountain man

The only complaint I have for this story is it's short.
The narration on the other hand is ok, if a little bland. Several times I almost fell asleep listening to it. I also don't think he got the voices across very well. I wish I had the e-book version.
Would I listened to this again? No not unless it was redone with a different narrator, read it though yes.

Trapper Jack

This was a short listen. Nettie had spunk and did what she had to survive and Jack was just what she needed. I loved the chemistry these two had and didn't know they needed. It was hot listen. Kenneth Solin did a great job.

Wonderful Plot Spoiled by Silly Spanking Season...

Well, given the reviews that I have read about this book, I am definitely in the minority. I'm not really a fan of corporal punishment (spankings) to adult women. In fact, I find it rather silly in books, especially given this excellent storyline by Amelia Smarts.

Nettie's story of struggle and perseverance IS VERY interesting, leading this listener to want more. She meets Mountain Jack after he accidentally traps her. Their feelings toward one another and their misunderstandings about the other's actions, as the story progresses are full of intrigue, angst, heartbreak and an evolving/devolving relationship, etc. A wonderful plot WITHOUT the abundance of 'silly spankings.' This 4 or 5 star plot garners a 3.5 because of my above reasons. (Please note that erotic writings do not offend me.)

Kenneth Solin's performance was very good. It felt and sounded very slow at regular speed. This seems to be an ongoing issue with me from many narrators. It is easily remedied by speeding the playback to 1.25x or even 1.5x speed. Solin's performance receives 4 stars from this listener.

Overall: please read my 2nd paragraph. I will average the story and performance – 4 stars

If Amelia Smarts wants my opinion; drop the spanking completely or commit/write racier material.

Note to potential listeners: this book contains sexual situations – mild compared to many books in this genre.

Great story!!

I really enjoyed this book and the narrator. He fit the book! Well worth buying!

LOVED IT!

I absolutely loved it! The narration is superb and gives the story that extra flair. It and will keep you entertained. This author does a great job with the character builds and plot. This was not my first book by this author, I read Daddy Takes Charge and enjoyed it a well. look forward to reading more books by this author.
