A cautionary tale about "fitting in"...
Priscilla comes back to school after a long absence, anticipating how wonderful it will be to see her friends again, to discover that things at school have changed in a dramatic way and not for the better! There is a new kid named Dexter who has managed to have such a profound influence over her friends that they are all looking and acting very differently. Cilla has to decide what she is willing to do and how much she is willing to give up to please her friends.
The story is in lyrical rhyming text that is fun to read dramatically aloud, great for family reading sessions. It is an educational tool for building vocabulary with an extensive glossary and index in the back. The glossary definitions define the words specifically as they are used in the story. The book is also intended to help new English language learners.

The relevance of the story to one of the issues that seems to be faced by young people today, that of fitting in, touched my heart especially in regard to the somewhat prominent issue of bulling.
