Many American churches have lost their way, but the path back to true Christianity is clear.

When did worship become entertainment? When did biblical truth take a backseat to social activism? When did comfort replace the call to discipleship? These are the major crises facing Christianity today.

Churchianity cuts through the confusion to expose how modern churches have traded authentic faith for "Churchianity"—a watered-down substitute that prioritizes feelings over truth, crowds over Christ, and cultural approval over spiritual transformation.

This isn't happening by accident. It's happening because many have forgotten what Christianity actually is.

In this book, you'll learn:

  • Why entertainment-focused worship undermines the gospel
  • How social justice leads believers astray
  • The crucial difference between God's justice and popular activism
  • Why comfort-focused Christianity produces weak disciples
  • The specific practices that built strong Christian communities for centuries
  • How to reclaim authentic worship, discipleship, and biblical authority

This book provides clear direction for Christians ready to abandon the shallow substitute and embrace the demanding, transformative faith that Christ actually taught.

If you're tired of church services that feel more like motivational seminars and TED Talks, sermons that avoid difficult truths, and a Christianity that looks suspiciously like secular culture with a Jesus sticker slapped on top—this book will show you the way back to the real thing.

The truth isn't comfortable. But it's the only thing that saves.

Loved this book cleared up a lot of issues I was having trouble understanding. I hope more people get to listen to it

Used little jargon

The author justifies his recent departure from his church in order to follow an orthodox Christianity that follows strict, literal interpretation of the Bible. He criticizes present day conservative churches for resembling money-grubbing capitalistic enterprises with rock concert like performances. He criticizes liberal churches that focus on social justice issues, speak about racism, allow women to preach to men, and get involved with politics. He advocates for true believers to form small communities of people dedicated to self transformation, with focus on the spiritual afterlife. His 3 appendices include his letter of resignation from his former church and a rather good book list of important writings on Christian theology. I found this book interesting to learn about that point of view, though I believe that my purpose in life follows a different path.

An orthodox biblical approach to Christianity

A summation of the book as I understood it: The Catholic religion is great and is the only church that's kept the Bible true. Only the ultra conservative interpretation of the Bible is correct. The only view of women that is correct is a complimentarian view everything else is satanic.

My issue with the book though it has some valid points, the author ingnore some scriptures in the same way he complains others do.
Are there some valid arguments, yes and some things that might make for a interesting conversation but I will not be recommending the book. I will also not call it heresy I will just say it's wrong.
