Publisher's summary

Church History, Volume One offers a unique contextual view of how the Christian church spread and grew from its development in the days of Jesus to the years leading up to the Reformation.

Looking closely at the integral link between the history of the world and that of the church, Church History paints a portrait of God's people within its setting of times, cultures, and events that both influenced and were influenced by the church.

The Zondervan Biblical and Theological Lectures series provides a unique audio learning experience. Unlike a traditional audiobook's direct narration of a book's text, Church History, Volume One: Audio Lectures includes high-quality live recordings of college-level lectures that cover the important points from each subject as well as relevant material from other sources.

These lectures feature the author teaching through each chapter in the book. Useful for traditional students, students in distance and online courses, and independent learners alike, these lectures provide a full introduction to church history from the time of Christ to the pre-Reformation.

lectures following the book

so I have both the book and the audible on the same title. What I've noticed is that the audible are a series of lectures that follow the book itself fairly closely. I think that together, they are very effective at helping me learn the material.

A fascinating description of church history

This is an excellent description of church history.
The author narrates his own lecture, which is also awesome.

Decent Content, Poor Quality

I am very disappointed with this “audiobook.” In reality, they are poorly stitched together classroom lectures. The audio quality clearly demonstrates this. It provides a decent review of the the first 1300 years of Christendom but seems incomplete and poorly put together.
