Great addition to the Maradoum series!

This fifth volume of Chronicles of Maradoum is an excellent addition to this series. There is plenty of action as well as very rich descriptions of the various regions in Maradoum, not to mention the various characters who populate these places. If you have read or listened any of the previous volumes, grab a copy and settle in for a very entertaining experience, if you are new to these stories each of these volumes are filled with stand-alone stories, so grab a copy and prepare to be entertained. Greg D. Barnett does an excellent job of telling each of the stories in this volume. I received a review copy of the audiobook through StoryOrigin and chose to provide this review.

11 Tales Unconnected of Maradoum

This collection of stories are about Maradoum and the various Creatures that exist there and their interaction with Mankind. Narrator does a good job with the various characters voices and the various Storylines.

This book is well written and I really enjoyed it. What more could you ask for if you are a fantasy lover, it has sword & sorcery, demons, monsters, vampires & pirates, it has it all. It was just the perfect combo of good story writing, great characters, and talented narrating by Greg D. Barnett that makes this book great. .. I was provided this audiobook by the author and Story Origin and this is my agreed upon review.

I loved this book with all the adventures of the different characters. The narrator was excellent.

An entertaining collection of fantasy short reads

Chronicles of Maradoum Volume 5: A Fantasy Anthology, my tenth read from author Ross C. Hughes, that I originally read back in September. An entertaining collection of fantasy short reads. “I received a free Audible copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review." The gifting of this book did not affect my opinion of it. Narrator Greg D. Barnett's talented voice made the re-read even better than the original. I'll definitely be reading more from this author. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018.

Volume 5 in the Chronicles of Maradoum!

Ross Hughes continues the Chronicles of Maradoum with Volume 5. The characters are well developed in each story, the plot and individual stories are all wonderful, and the combination of action and pacing keeps you coming back for more! I look forward to Volume 6! Audio Version: Another new narrator, Greg D. Barnett does a good job with the story and characters.

This is my second DNF from this series. I previously listened to and reviewed #4 and found it suffered from being predictable, boring, and forgettable. I thought maybe I was too hard on book 4 and put more effort into trying to suffer my way through book 5, but it wasn’t worth it.

It suffers from the same issues as Book 4, it’s forgettable and boring. I’ve had this as my qued up book on Audible for months and every time I open the app and see it, I dread having to start listening to it again. I’m 3 stories into #5 and the only story that has left an impression on me was story 1 from #4 due to how insultingly predictable it was.

If you’re looking for a short story collection, there are dozens more I could recommend by genre. Unfortunately, this series falls flat.

Unfortunately, I don’t have much good to say about the narrator either. The way he pronounces words like whip and “hhwhip” will forever be insufferable to me. As is the way he reads nearly every single line in the same voice. While he does deserve credit for his character voices, or, I should say attempt at character voices. While they do sound somewhat different from each other, none of them could be considered distinct, and all still more or less sound like a slight variation of his speaking voice.
