Raised by her beloved Meemaw after the tragic loss of her parents, Haley hasn’t set foot on her family’s Nashville ranch in years. But when her brother, Charles, calls with an urgent plea to help save the ranch from foreclosure, she reluctantly agrees to return home just before Christmas.

Things take an awkward turn when Haley meets Kate, the ranch’s no-nonsense and fiercely loyal lead hand. Sparks fly in all the wrong ways as their clashing personalities lead to heated arguments and misunderstandings. But with the fate of the ranch hanging in the balance, Haley and Kate are forced to put aside their differences and work together.

Book vs Movie

Because the story was done with virtual voice, I had to go check out the movie to get the real emotions. While of course the book has more details, the movie does follow a lot of the book. While the movie is PG-13, the book would rate an R rating due to what happens after the bar, which is not included in the movie.

The book of course would have been a lot better without virtual voice, and I wouldn't have had to go find the movie for free.
