“The sign says NO VACANCY, not VACANCY.” The innkeeper's gruff reply belied his handsome face, and Angela Perkins took a step back.
Heading north for the holidays, things certainly hadn't gone as she had planned. A snowstorm, an apple pie, and an old friend all conspire to bring her to a crossroads. Will a Christmas Eve detour send her back to her snug village home, or will she forge ahead and let a turn in the road lead her to newfound happiness?
In this, the first entry in her new Rose and Briar Inn series, internationally beloved From Women's Pens author Andrea Twombly weaves a warm story of the Christmas season, rich in challenges overcome and courage discovered along a twisting road to love.

Sweet and Short
I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
This novella is a little out of the ordinary as the main characters are more mature than we are usually accustomed to find in what is ultimately a love story. Two widows that find the weight of loneliness too hard to bear, find themselves at a moment when they saw their days filled only with memories of lost moments and feelings. It is a soft love story, a Christmas gift, that happens to two lonely people who are not looking for each other.
The writing is pleasant as is the story. The narration is a reading, but well done. The short book will leave you with a sense of warmth, maybe just what you need when the Christmas Season approaches.

SHORT BUT REALLY SWEET!
When you've lost someone, sometimes the last thing on your mind is ever finding love again... but sometimes, it finds you. Things have a way of working out when you least expect them to. This is a really great story about loss and the opportunity to find love again. I really enjoyed listening to it, both the story and narration were awesome! Definitely recommend! :)

This is a sweet, easy read/listen.
This is a sweet, quick novel with mature characters who have lost their life partners. A snow storm brings an unexpected encounter that could change the future lives of the retired teacher and the lonely innkeeper. Will they be held by their past loves or will they see a chance for a new future?
I enjoyed the easy flow of this story. The characters are nicely developed even though this is short. The reader anticipates this to be a second chance at love story and the author delivers in a sweet fashion. I recommend this to readers who enjoy mature characters and a second chance at love.
Audio Notes: Lisa Leslie provides a direct narration with distinct voices. I felt that the reading was a calmer emotional presentation than might have been. Still, it was a pleasant performance.
I received this audio book from the author through AudioBook Boom. My rating 4.25.

Christmas at the inn
Andrea Twombly wrote a sweet story. You never know what can happen. Life will lead you where you are meant to go. Have faith. Lisa Leslie has a monotone voice. Steady, but not much feeling. Over all I would recommend to an older crowd, no sex, just a sweet story. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
