Please Get Lucy to redo these last three
Listening to this book is excruciating. The first four had an amazing narrator. The last three, I’ve sadly discovered I have a different narrator who sounds like she is upwards of 50. I’m only in chapter 3, and it’s very, very hard to listen to and stay engaged. It’s really disappointing because I absolutely loved the first four of the series.

Great Story
I liked the story, and even the narrator. I have gotten use to her and her style. The only thing I did not like was the overly graphic descriptions of the sexual interactions of Ricky & BJ. It was not necessary, as we know Ricky is a worm! The audience knows he is a raw, rude and awful person! Let the audience form their own interpretation of the interludes. Otherwise I liked the story, and outcome!

great author, terrible narrator
I loved the books in this serie so far, so I just bought this one without listening in first. Unfortunately the narrator is a different one, she sounds twice the age of the main caracter and really ruins the book for me. Pity, the previous narrator was great.

Narrator Not For Me
The narrator sounds too old for the character, and she’s just too “in your face” for me. Narrators can either make or break a book. This one broke it for me.

Another fantastic book by Jessica Redland it’s just a shame the narration wasn’t by Lucy Brownhill, she has a way of bringing the characters to life unlike Emma Swan who hasn’t quite mastered the same technique.

Really poor narrator
Not such a fan of this book, which may have had something to do with the narrator. I did try the other Whitsborough Bay books narrated by Emma Swan but found them really difficult to stay with. She narrated the following book in the series too (about the Chocolate Pot Cafe) and I actually couldn’t finish it. She seems to really struggle with accents and it really negatively effected the dialogue between characters meaning it just didn’t flow. Her voice also has a habit of becoming really childlike and irritating at times too. The story lines of these books are all super predictable but that’s OK if you’re looking for a really easy, ‘no effort’ listen. It’s life through rose tinted glasses. Particularly suitable for anyone that believes women always need the ‘man of their dreams’ to complete them and their life.

Lovely story.
But it did make me crave chocolate!! Ha!
Love Emma Swans voice - I started on the hedgehog hollow books from Jessica Redland so it was what I was used to.
It’s a wholesome voice - is it possible for a voice to feel like a hug?

Bring Back Lucy Brown as Narrator!
The story is brilliant, but my goodness I struggled with this narrator. I assume the wonderful Lucy Brown who usually narrates this series was unavailable. However, why select someone whose voice is high pitched, over excited, and extremely childlike. She is more suited to narrating children’s books. It was so irritating! It is a testament to how excellent the story line is that I endured the narration to finish the story!

I love the way the lead characters story is told, woven stories from past and present. The way the story jumps a year is a little strange but I loved the story all the same

Not the best story in this series.
The story needs serious editing and better narration. Play Chapter 29 at .75 speed to make sense of the dialogue.

That narrator has ruined it for me
I’ve loved the Whitsborough Bay series read by Lucy Brownhill then I got to Christmas Wishes at the Chocolate Shop and I sadly can’t continue, the narration for me is like finger nails down a chalk board, I had to stop after an hour and can’t continue, disappointing that I won’t finish the series n as I liked the way the characters loosely interlinked with each other loosely in each book
