Worth reading...Easy read

Sweet, predictable but entertaining. It was worth the price, especially for the length of story.

Loved it

A beautiful, at times heartbreaking story with the best ending. Totally adored it, though it gave me terrible chocolate cravings! I adore the Whitsborough bay stories, especially the Castle street stories. A gorgeous, feel good book from one of my favourite contemporary authors.

Easy Listening

I love this author, with her easy to listen to stories of the bay & it’s characters.
But the narrator oh Lord, why does she make the characters sound like proverbial village idiots, there isn’t any continuity with voices from the previous story to the next.
She sounds way to old for the characters she is portraying.

Really poor narrator

Not such a fan of this book, which may have had something to do with the narrator. I did try the other Whitsborough Bay books narrated by Emma Swan but found them really difficult to stay with. She narrated the following book in the series too (about the Chocolate Pot Cafe) and I actually couldn’t finish it. She seems to really struggle with accents and it really negatively effected the dialogue between characters meaning it just didn’t flow. Her voice also has a habit of becoming really childlike and irritating at times too. The story lines of these books are all super predictable but that’s OK if you’re looking for a really easy, ‘no effort’ listen. It’s life through rose tinted glasses. Particularly suitable for anyone that believes women always need the ‘man of their dreams’ to complete them and their life.

Narrator

Another fantastic book by Jessica Redland it’s just a shame the narration wasn’t by Lucy Brownhill, she has a way of bringing the characters to life unlike Emma Swan who hasn’t quite mastered the same technique.

who is that dreadful narrator?

I really struggled with the dreadful voice of the narrator, I almost gave up in the 1st chapter. Ok story line but very predictable

Super!!

I pre ordered this so was very pleased when it arrived. I absolutely love the Fictional town of Whitsborough Bay. It is probably a good job it is fictional as I would definitely want to live there and have my own shop on Castle St along with all the other traders. This is Charlie's story and the journey she goes on to get her chocolate shop is quite an eventful one. It made me laugh, get mad, I even got emotional happy tears. A great book and fantastic narrator which brought it all to life for me.
The characters are brilliant and it's really great that the characters from the previous books show their faces. It felt like visiting old friends.
I am a bit sad that I have no more to listen to yet. I've really binged on Jessica Redland 's books, she is one author I will one click with no hesitation!
