Life isn’t always sweet, even for girls called Candy.

Candice Parker’s life has never been easy. Plagued by losses and setbacks, each day is a struggle for the petite brunette and her young son. Last year, a tragedy forced her to accept the help of a man she had refused to even date. Today, she’s ready to take the next step, but will his rich and powerful mother allow it?

Gerald Ford had always kept things simple. He had lived a fast and furious lifestyle with no intentions of slowing down. However, when he finally decides he’s ready to take the plunge, it seems that the entire world is conspiring against them. Will his mother Eve be their saving grace, or will she be the thing that brings his relationship with Candy to an end?

Sweet Holiday!

As Candice and Gary's relationship grows, they decide the next step is marriage. They are perfect together, and Gary is so good with Candice's son Dakota. Who would ever want to throw a wrench into their happiness? Things can never be that easy, as in this installment we get to know a little more background about Gary and his family. I love this kind of series, it gives you a bits and pieces to put together as we go along! Jacobey is on to something with her yearly installments, and now that Candy and Gary have gotten over this obstacle, I can't wait to see where they are next year.

Christine Kelly narrates this short and I loved it. It's my first narration by her, and though not a long story, she is well paced and her voices are perfect for each character. She can easily switch between characters, and I especially loved the interactions she voiced between Candy and Eve. Flawless changes and very entertaining.

Short and Sweet

Samantha Jacobey pulled me in with this short, sweet book. I really enjoyed this story and am looking forward to hearing the next one in the series. Christine Kelly performed the book excellently. She added the right emotions. I could feel Candy's frustration with Gary's mom. I requested this review copy audiobook and have voluntarily written this review. I will definitely listen to the next book by this author and narrator.

Great Read

Christmas Eve: Sweet Christmas Book Two was a good read by Samantha Jacobey. Candice and Gerald are getting ready to get married. One person trying to stand in their way is Gerald's rich and powerful mom. When someone from Candice's past threatens to hurt them, Gerald's mom will either save them or bring their relationship to an end. I enjoyed reading Candice and Gerald's story and can't wait to read more in this series.

Lovely story!

This is the 2nd book in the Sweet Christmas Series but it stands alone. It was a lovely nontraditional family story. Not your typical romance book full of passion. I very much enjoyed it. Nicely read by the narrator. I was gifted a copy of this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

Cute, quick listen...slightly unbelievable

Christmas Eve, a Sweet Christmas Series Book 2 by Samantha Jacobey Though it's Book 2, it still stands well as a standalone story. I could tell that there was a past story that I had missed (Book 1) but it didn't take away from the story in my opinion. This is the story of Candy and her son, and her relationship with Gary. Since this is so short, I don't want to give anything away, but I had trouble feeling invested in the characters. I think that was the biggest problem for me. Also, Gary's mom went from essentially hating Candy to doing a complete 180 and then some in a somewhat unbelievable blink of an eye. It just all came together so unbelievably easy. That being said, if you're looking for an easy, sweet listen and not expecting too much, this may be a good one for you. Listening to Book 1 may have made my opinion of this book a little different, I'm not sure.

Christine Kelly narrated this book and did a pretty good job narrating this novella. I'd have no problem listen to more of her narrations in the future. I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator, or publisher for an honest review.

Sweet short story

This is a sweet short story but (spoiler alert) the mother in law came around way too easily for it to be believable.

Over all a good short story. It was obvious that there was more to the story before this one took place. The segue was fairly smooth and the main points were covered. Because of this I let go some of my concerns regarding the character development which I considered lacking. It also meant there seemed to be more 'narration' than I prefer.

The narration was good I liked the various voices and inflections and pacing were in keeping with the story.

I felt a stiltness to the story whether this is a result of the way it was written. Trying to get a lot of information un a short amount of time or from the narration. This was annoying at times.

I received Christmas Eve for free in exchange for an unbiased review.
