The epilogues are a killer!!

These books are expertly narrated. Each characters voice are distinct and the emotional inflection is spot on!! Bravo!!

However!!!, the epilogues are killers. Ms McAvoy ensures you have no choice but to keep reading. She is a sly one!

multiple plot twists, cliffhanger spoilers

I must say first of all I think children of redemption which is Wyatt's story is the best and most disturbing book about liam and melody's kids in the vice series.
SPOLIERS Ahead I'll try to not to spill to much!😫😍😭🙅‍♀️😅 😷🤦‍♀️

Donnatella leaves and something shocking happens to Ivy! Wyatt goes off the deep end on his road to redemption and starts acting like a Callahan raised from pitts of hell. Let's just touch on Wyatt's love life for a sec #depraved. He sleeps with the help then starts a romantic relationship with one of his cousins because they are apparently in love 🤦‍♀️That's a bottom line for me whether we are bio related or not... family members are a no, but from a subjective point of view royalty does it all the time and it was common practice among upper classes a 100 hundred years ago... in today's society it's a taboo but I guess to each his own. I was a bit conflicted and distressed at the same time because they had such good chemistry😭 😫😅
J.J. McAvoy had people raising from the dead like Jesus😂 and a secret baby bomb!

The the narration was amazing and it book was epic it kept me on the edge. I'm off to read vicious minds because these cliffhangers keep you wanting more!
p.s .These books aren't a stand alone I would recommend immersive reading, getting ruthless people series and then reading in order for the vice series.

AWESOME as Usual:)

The author knows what their doing and does a superior job. Just make sure to start with book 1 first it helps alot since it's all about the kids in this series and her other series Ruthless People is about Mom and Dad :)
This specific title of the series has to do with Wyatt Callahan.
Great Books!!

A COMPELLING STORYLINE EPICALLY TOLD

For twenty-one days I missed the release of this audiobook.. twenty-one days of missed opportunities to catch-up with the wickedly twisted events centered around, and inflicted by, the Callahan Mafia family. A dynasty of strong colorful characters whose multi-layered lives and actions have been masterfully concealed and slowly been revealed in this spin-off series from the deliciously dark Ruthless People series. They’re caught up in (or create) situations that are always self-serving.. they’re possessive, passionate, loyal to the family and deadly to anyone who crosses them.. or anyone they don’t like.. or anyone not family.. or anyone family who abuse their trust or breaks their rules. Yet these hardened characters draw you in, they woo you with their dark endearing personalities, they shock and shake you with their violent acts and they knock your moral compass off kilter when you find yourself justifying their bloodthirsty ruthless actions. However they feel heartache, are sucker-punched by betrayal and, given the chance, they love deeply and forever.

Phenomenal writing skills are yet again shown here by a very talented author who skilfully describes multiple character’s POVs in a gripping storyline that had WTF twists and had me staying awake til silly o’clock in the morning mentally chanting “just one more chapter” over and over.. and over again until there weren’t any chapters left. The intricate and intense web that J.J. McAvoy weaves has no-stop riveting action, compelling drama, lots of feels and some clever reveals as she tempts and taunts you with endless possibilities. Wyatt didn’t know that love was right there under his roof - he was so wrapped up in Ethan’s heartache and subsequent meltdown as well as controlling the fallout.. but, when Helen drunkenly admits her feelings one night, her revelations heat up this cold-blooded Mafia’s feelings.

Worth a credit? OMG yes.. it delivered so much more than I anticipated (even if it was my least favorite book in the series). Joel Froomkin’s narration was on-point, on fire and on another level from a lot of other narrators.. he WAS each an every individual character.. he made them multi-dimensional.. he brought the tension, the mood and the feels.. and he made this story utterly gripping, unstoppable and created a 5 star-worthy audiobook.

Outstanding!! Spectacular!! All the stars!

Writing a review for this audio is difficult because I really can't praise this series enough and yet words won't do it justice. This story really gives you a deeper look within the relationship of the brother's Callahan, how friends can become more and how following your heart becomes the only thing to make sense when all else is chaos. J.J. McAvoy has build a world and has constructed a family dynamic that might seem very unorthodox but yet their main mantra is "Family First and above all." Having the flashbacks just gave so much weight to the message and things start to unravel and you are just taken for a ride. The chemistry amongst Wyatt & Helen is so real... You feel for Helen and root for what is going on. By the end of the audio the story takes such a turn that grabs you by the heart and squeezes. I cried so hard... OMG!!! And the narration, as with previous audios in this series, it's pure perfection!! Joel Froomkin has taken his talents and has made of this series a true show of his genius and how he is able to convey emotions and give each character an individual voice. You would think there are 10 people narrating this audio when it's all this man's voice and talent. Simply put this is THE BEST mafia series out there!!! The narration just takes it to another galaxy and I can't have enought!! BRAVO!!
