Can an exciting new outlook on life help Connie heal her damaged heart?

Connie White is running away from an abusive relationship. Fear and desperation have driven her to Bowdley Hall Hotel in the Scottish Highlands, where, despite an unceremonious start, she appears to have fallen on her feet. The owner, Frances McKenzie, is kind and understanding and seems happy for Connie to hide out in her hotel for a while.

With a roof over her head and a job as a chambermaid, Connie is in a better situation than she could ever have hoped for. Her workmates seem nice, but she’s determined to keep them at arm’s length. After all, how can she form connections if she’s unwilling to divulge anything about herself?

Her apparent mysteriousness doesn’t faze her gorgeous new colleagues Will MacIntyre, Nico Moretti, and Ashley Fox. All three show a keen interest in her, but Connie has absolutely no intention of going there. She hasn’t fled one relationship only to get involved with someone else, no matter how gorgeous. She simply isn’t ready for that.

When an epiphany of sorts makes her realize she’s living a half-life by keeping herself so cut off from everyone, she finally lets someone in. That someone shows her there can be something between singledom and a full-on relationship. And when casual dating is on the cards, anything is possible...

Not the ending I expected

The narration for this story was spot on; so well picked for this book. This book started out one way and did a complete left turn about 3/4 of the way through; I'm not saying a bad left turn but whoa. She starts out timid and scared and ends up the exact opposite in a matter of days. It just changed directions too quick for it to feel natural. If you can get past that the narration keeps you in it to the end.

First time I tried this genre and I enjoyed it!

She ran away from her crappy life and ended up in a reverse harem situation. Now she was involved with a trio of guys.. Hopefully,, it all works out good for her in this sexy romp in the Scottish countryside..
The author has done a great job of developing great characters who all interact in interesting adult ways.that she has never experienced before..
Narration was good and easy to listen to.

Hot novella!

This novella is hot, hot, hot. It is a slow burn to the finish, but the end will blow you away. Whew. The characters were great, and the story was well written. I enjoyed the character development despite the short arc, and the happily for right now ending did not disappoint. If you are interested in some fun erotica, this novella might be just the spice you are looking for.

enjoyed it

Short, easy listen, Connie is a likeable character and shows some personal growth.

I enjoyed Frankie Holland's narration, she has a nice voice that suits Connie's personality, good inflections and intonations that work to bring the characters to life and has done a reasonable effort with the male voices.

Would I listen to it again: yes
