Publisher's Summary

John Bishop isn't your typical single dad. Reserved, impatient, and utterly clueless.

Running the family's bed and breakfast has many perks. Working long hours, picking up after the guests, and hearing couples going at it all night long aren't any of them. Hooking up with girls who come to the ranch for horseback riding lessons? Best perk of them all.

That is until a baby shows up at his doorstep with a note claiming it's his. Leaving the bachelor life behind, his only priority is to hire a nanny who can teach him a thing or two about parenting - except he doesn't anticipate her being gorgeous and quirky with an unhealthy football obsession.

Mila Carmichael has many talents - making balloon animals, creating origami art, and remaining in the friend zone. Often seen as one of the guys, she's struck out more times than a rookie baseball player.

Seeking a new adventure, she flies to Texas to visit family and is offered a position she can't refuse. Helping out a new dad should come easy to her, considering her past experience, but what she doesn't anticipate is him being an attractive Southern temptation.

But that's only the beginning.

Contains mature themes.

A surprising good read/listen!

Narration was great; characters had depth; storyline was well thought out; characters were relatable and distinct; material held my interest (which says a lot because I am easily bored by the same old same old that several well-known authors put out book after book). This material was refreshing and original. And the sex was limited (at least in the story-telling). The author trusted me enough to envision the encounters the way I wanted. I wasn't spoon-fed erotica as many authors do. I've never read anything by this author previously, and I've never been a fan of "western" material, but I really enjoyed this on all levels. It's a unique story and I respected each of its characters. The only issue I had was how the baby was delivered to John. Really, I think that attorney could be disbarred for leaving a baby outside to be found. For god's sake, he's a lawyer and she was his client. Why would he not at least knock on the door and announce himself??? Again, that was the only issue I had. I enjoyed all the characters, and I may deviate from my rejection of reading all books in a series and read another one from this series. For me, the best way to read a book from a series is to NOT start with the first book. And I'm glad I didn't with this series. Kudos to the author for taking her time in developing the characters and the storyline. You're restoring my faith in fiction writers.

I can recommend this book

I will only give 3 stars for the story. This author has an almost identical story with Kaylee Ryan. Her book Southern Desire has a single man suddenly made a dad. He falls in love with the nanny. The biological mothers parents sues for custody of the child. He works on & own a ranch.
There's so many similareties!

Other than that the story is sweet. The narrators are good.

Another hit

I love this series and I cannot wait to listen to Jackson's story. It's funny how all three seemingly respectable boys are the one that ended up with babies first lol. Kennedy Fox another hit .

Loved it

Loving this series, wish I could meet all the characters.
The narration was well delivered & gave you the imagination to believe you were there in the story.
This last bit pains me to put a smudge on my review but I can't help feeling disappointed that Keeping him the last in the series is not available on audible, I can only hope it will be released in the future.

sweet as always

I'd forgotten how sweet Ms Fox's stories were. the bishops are awesome and I was waiting for John's story.
I'm just not into the baby thing .....but I have to say Ms Edwin did a superb job of Mila and her Inflections and tone were perfect.
I love Aiden as always, he's so gravelly and yummy.
I've just finished listening to a young man/playboy by another author and don't really want to hear another.
Jackson's negativity and push away, frustration isn't for me, so I'm heading back to black ops stories.
if you like family ties, great alpha men, gorgeous women and swoon over babies...this is for you. oh and there is some steamy bits that will have you fanning your face.
