Publisher's summary

You think you know the story of Cinderella....

The kingdom needs an heir, and Princess Charmaine is quite aware the job rests solely upon her shoulders.

When her elder sister dies, Charmaine has to take her place at the ball designed to find her a husband. With 100 men to choose from and her wedding planned, all she has to do is pick one. But love can sometimes be found in the most unlikely of places and at the most inconvenient of times.

Cynder knows about the impending war between the people of magic and those of his masters, but working as an underpaid servant in the palace kitchens leaves him with little power to do anything about it. On one hand, he's a staunch supporter of equal rights for his own kind, but he can't deny the attraction he feels for the daughter of the king and queen for whom he works.

When the two meet, sparks fly, and not just the magical kind....

Charm is the first in the Reverse Fairytale series by USA Today best-selling author J.A. Armitage. Take everything you think you know about fairy tales and turn it on its head.

Awesome Twist on Cinderella

I loved reading this story. There was excitement, mystery and romance, and it was all so well mixed together I just had to keep turning the pages to find out more. Honestly I still need to know more. I can't believe what poor Charmaine had to go through and her heartbreak leaped off of each page. I've always loved reading and this is one of those books that I'll read again and again trying to find things that I missed or maybe even figure out what's going to happen in the next book. I can say no matter what I have to read book 2.

I loved listening to Mary Narrate. Her voices for the different characters were awesome and made a book I already loved so much even better.

Magically Crafted Enchanting Tale!

This audiobook draws you in & keeps you captivated till the end. I'm hoping the author continues to turn the other books in this series into audio books. A highly intriguing reverse fairytale that is a fabulously adaptation of the original Cinderella. Brimming with magic & suspense a spellbinding intoxicated read. The narrative between the magi & nonmagi is well established & creates a riveting plot with unexpected twists. The writing style is unparalleled & fits the genre perfectly. The narrator did well with the main character voice Charmaine, however, a lot of the supporting characters voices could use a lot of fine tuning. It was like they were screaming & it was awful to hear & took away some from the story. The background & genre were well captured in the MC'S voice. The pace & tone was very good. I recommend polishing up the supportive character's voices as it would make it a five * all around. Overall, a fun & entertaining listening read.

Love and Intrigue are to be found in the this series,

Reader needs more practice

The story is sweet and cute and fun. An easy listen. The reader’s voice is quite pleasant most of the time, but some of her characters’ voices were quite obnoxious and needed more work. It’s amazing how the voice you give someone can change the way you perceive the character! I wish I had just read the book.

I’d skip this one

People are saying it’s refreshing in new and different. But the performer made a lot of the voices sound like they were talking to a little baby which was irritating. The story itself I didn’t like either. Love love interest was hardly in the book. I wanted it to be good but it wasn’t.
