Reseñas de la Crítica

"Compelling...A worthy addition to this durable and deservedly popular series." (The New York Times)

Featured Article: Dune (2021)—Book vs. Movie

The very first book to win the Nebula Award, Frank Herbert's Dune has long been a fixture of the sci-fi world. It's no surprise, then, that yet another filmmaker has taken a stab at bringing this classic to the screen. The latest effort, by Arrival and Blade Runner 2049 director Denis Villeneuve, captures the first half of the epic novel. The reviews have been generally positive, with critics and audiences blown away by the scale and sheer ambition of the adaptation. Overall, Villeneuve's 2021 adaptation of Herbert's sci-fi classic is quite faithful. But in what small ways does the film differ from the book?

Philosophical Depth • Complex Worldbuilding • Excellent Narration • Intricate Plotting • Strong Conclusion

Old Frank Herbert is getting a little weird in this one, especially near the beginning. There are some odd sexual themes that came off as more odd that interesting, but some of the world building was good. The performance was as good as usual, however.

very entertaining. I whish there was only one narrator though. The main narrator was as excellent as he was in the previous books. the quality of the secondary narrator was not so good. Too many changes in volume made it difficult to listen. i had to constantly adjust for volume.

good story

Ending feels rushed but otherwise this book very good. I don't think I'll read any past this one.

Not everyone gives this book a great rating, however I have always enjoyed this last true book of the Dune series.

A gripping tale from the Bene Geserit view. Fascinating. Herbert’s last book in the series, although continued by his son and collaborator. The best bits of Bene Geserit wisdom are contained herein.

The different Narrators with different pronunciations really made it difficult for me to follow the story.

A fantastic finish to the series. I always appreciated Herbert’s inclusion of philosophy to his books. This installment kept me pondering my own reality while immersed in his universe more so than every other book. The reading was great, and I would consider listening again.

If they don’t this is a good reason they should be a thing. I have never heard audio that peaks in an audiobook till now. You guys did Katherine dirty
