Fantastic Mage the Ascension Sourcebook

This book sounded like source material for a role playing game or maybe a Dresden Files spin off the entire time I was listening to it. Imagine my surprise when I found out that a portion of this book was lifted directly from the pages of Tradition Book: Hollow Ones, a role playing game source book for Mage the Ascension.

Because of this, I cannot recommend it in good faith as an Occult text of any kind.

If you're looking for a companion piece for Mage, then it's pretty solid.

Book should be called "Blood Magick"

This book has an interesting introduction to Chaos Magick, and explains the principles and basics of this path.

However, the logic and sequence of chapters in the book goes something like: "Chaos magick can use many different pathways to achieve results. One of these pathways (after listing some others too) is blood magick. I (as the author) like blood magick" Therefore the rest of the book will be a grimoire of blood magick spells that require spilling blood."

If you're not into blood magick, this book is not for you and I would much rather suggest books on this subject by Phil Hine or Peter Carroll.

Fascinating and thought provoking 🤔

This book covers a multitude of things like energy work, remote viewing, dreams, shape shifting, doppelgangers, and magical practices in religion. The chapter on energetic hot spots was very interesting to me. For a lover of all things paranormal this book is packed full of information. I didn't care much for the blood magic section. But even still I liked the rest of the book enough to revisit it in my library in the future. I was given this free review copy audio at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Title and Description is Misleading!

This book is neither informative or about Chaos magic! The description of this book is way off. It was written so poorly with such pompous attitude, it might as well be a prop

unorganized mess

I got suckered in by the sample section, but it turns out that was the only interesting part of the book. even though there are less than a handful of interesting ideas sprinkled into the book, its still hard to listen through the unorganized/numerous tiny chapters.

Worth the time

Very good read, lots of interesting stuff. The witchengine will be a good thing to try

Very Interesting

I started this book knowing absolutely nothing about the topic. I found it very interesting and thought-provoking. While I'm not sure that I would put my stamp of approval on every statement or idea in the book, I did think that the overall concepts were fascinating. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone interested in the topic.

The Narrator was quite good, in my opinion. I would like to hear her in future books.

A Great Listen

Chaos Magic was a super interesting listen. This is the real deal. There was something fascinating about each chapter. This book explains the uses and techniques of chaos magic and how to practice it if you don't know. I think much is intent and will. I enjoyed listening to it. I liked Seth Cardorra's writing and I thought Persephone Rose's performance was excellent. An overall WOW audiobook!

Wonderful introduction into chaos magic. I found it interesting. I knew very little of chaos magic before listening to this and I definitely want to know more now. The narrator was excellent.

This has been a wonderful audible book

I have been healing an injury and decided to make the most out of my current state of being.
-I dont believe this is a book for beginners and you may want to have some previous knowledge of the occult, witchcraft or energy work to get the most out of this book. I absolutely love this and am grateful to be able to listen to this, so glad its on audible😀

the book is ridiculous title so misleading

would like to exhange it for something with a less misleading title. absolute shite. twats

don't get if you're just interested in what this is on some of the theory that is more like a complicated instruction manual.
