Publisher's summary

Her Faerie Tale is getting awfully grim.

Deor Smithfield had it all figured out. She had a great education, a new job teaching at a good university, and a plan to move across the country to start her new life.

Then her body betrayed her, and she seemed to be falling prey to the same wasting sickness that killed her mother. When medical science failed her in spectacular fashion, Deor's grandmother told her that her long-lost father was more than just another deadbeat dad - he was a faerie, and she's a Changeling, half-human, half-fae.

Now Deor has to rush to Faerie in search of her missing father before his magical parting gift kills her. She's in a new world with no friends, no money, no job, and only a few days to find her disappearing daddy before she's kicked back out into the mundane world to die.

Oh yeah, and somebody's hunting Changelings in Faerie.

Changeling's Fall is the first volume of the Eisteddfod Chronicles, the stunning debut contemporary high fantasy series from Sarah Joy Adams and Emily Lavin Leverett.

A fun and pleasant surprise

I'll admit to being a bit of a fairy tale snob. This was the first (kind of?) urban fantasy I'd read in a long time, due to a recent newfound love of old fairy tales. However, it made me realize that not all urban fantasies are created equal (okay, that should have been obvious,) and this one is much better than many I'd previously read. My appreciation for the genre is renewed! This story is fun, sexy, intriguing and just the beginning of a series, so there is more where this came from! It had humorous bits and the romantic aspect wasn't overbearing or cheesy, as I find many are in other stories. The characters are developed with care and the story sets up plenty of exciting future possibilities!

She went looking for a cure, not an inheritance.

A woman has come to one conclusion, for her to find out what was slowly killing her, she would have to find and confront the person who had fathered her.
The only problem was that she knew very little about her father, and what had been told, well, she was sure she believed.

Yes it an adventure into the unknown, a tale that the author's rendition of the story, is far superior to my poor synapses.

Yes, a very good tale, made even more enjoyable by the various characters' vocalizations representations by the narrator on the audiobook rendition.

Fantastic

I loved this book. The characters were amazing, I loved the twists in the storyline. The narrator was fabulous.

Narrater made it hard to listen

The story line was very predictable and the characters very one dimensional. I'm not sure if the herorine was truly that whiny or if it was just how the narrator made her come across. It could have been an easy, light listen if it weren't for the awful narration. The male voices were horrible, they all sounded like ancient trolls. The echo effect was also very annoying.
