Publisher's Summary

Great results begin with great questions

In this new expanded edition of her classic international best seller, Marilee Adams shows how the kinds of questions we ask shape our thinking and can be the root cause of many personal and organizational problems. She uses a highly instructive and entertaining story to show how to quickly recognize any undermining questions that pop into your mind - or out of your mouth - and reframe them to achieve amazingly positive and practical results. The third edition includes a new introduction and epilogue and two powerful new tools that show how question thinking can dramatically improve coaching and leadership.

Based on Adams' decades of research and experience, this book can make a life-transforming difference - as it already has for many thousands of people around the world.

Great Book

If you could sum up Change Your Questions, Change Your Life in three words, what would they be?

Very powerful message. I am using some of the techniques with my students as well as in my own life.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Change Your Questions, Change Your Life?

I really liked the message about people being judgers or learners and when you discover you are on the judger path it's easy to cross over to the learner path.

Good resource for coaching & self development

Would you listen to Change Your Questions, Change Your Life again? Why?

Yes. I really like the questioning approach. As natural "problem-solver" I found some of the stories familiar and some of the techniques applicable.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

The case studies appeared very simple and not reflecting real business challenges.

Did Anna Crowe do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?

In the beginning it was difficult to connect with the reader: female voice describing a male character.

What did you learn from Change Your Questions, Change Your Life that you would use in your daily life?

Self awareness - Observe better. Coaching techniques using questions.

Any additional comments?

Getting a PDF file with the workbook and other resources would be great. I was unable to download from the website without creating an account with them.

Great Book

Would you try another book from Marilee G. Adams, PhD and/or Anna Crowe?

Yes

What aspect of Anna Crowe’s performance would you have changed?

I'd prefer to read it vs. hearing it because the book is being read from the perspective of a male character, hearing a woman's voice throws me off. I think there should have been two characters for this reading.

Any additional comments?

Again, I'd probably read the book vs listening.

Tough Listen

It was the same thing over and over and over and over. So annoying. I made a commitment to myself that I would finish every audio book I started. If it weren't for that commitment I would have stopped listening 20 minutes in.

Good ideas, just not a ground breaking as they want you to think

This book presents some good ideas on handling relationships and personal coaching. They reminded me of some of the tips in Covey’s “seven habits”. I did find the book’s need to constantly emphasize how truly great the tools are somewhat tedious.

Insightful

One of the only books I can say may have helped me to make a positive change in my life. We can all be guilty of negative thinking and being in judger mindset. Already I've seen improvements to how I approach situations and I look forward to implementing the techniques more in the future.

The narration was spot on and entertaining. Really enjoyed this book and would recommend for sure.

Review

Could have been scripted better with much short and easy to remember questions, that can be followed in day to day basis.

Great questions

I got a lot out of this book and the questions and methodology it presents. In my view the narrator detracts from the message ... the characters in the book are predominantly Male - so a female narrator doing male characters is just annoying... unless of course her voice is deep like Margaret Thatcher. I'd buy the audiobook again if performed by a male narrator.
