A nice listen but I didn't love it.
I really like Amber Lin, and even though the whole, "I'm a military guy and I'm coming back to my home town to see the girl I left behind" thing doesn't really due much for me, I had to give this one a try. And I enjoyed it, though it wasn't anything mind-blowing.
I feel terrible saying that I didn't love this narration because only a few months after this audiobook was released, the veteran voice-over actress that recorded this book passed away tragically and unexpectedly. While I think Vanessa Hart did a great job being expressive and emotional while she was narrating, her throaty voice came across sounding too mature for the female MC and it threw me off a bit.
For me, this story was hot, pleasant, and a bit boring. All in all, a good use of my money but I don't know if I would remember it in a few weeks.
