Publisher's summary

In book one of the Shooting Stars series, Catch a Falling Star, best-selling author Leah Downing introduces Lauren St. Germain, a federal investigator accused of assisting the Taliban in a homeland terrorist attack targeting her husband.

Scandal, mystery, and one of Hollywood’s leading men refuse to let her fade from the public’s eye. Her relationship status? It’s complicated...and that’s not even the half of it.

A Book For All Seasons

This book was recommended to me by a friend. I found the detail immersive, the characters well rounded, grounded in reality. The author did an impressive amount of research which explains the engaging detail of the world she has built between the pages. I listened to this as an unabridged audio book and found the narrator well spoken and entertaining. She told the story smoothly while changing her voice in pitch and tone so you could distinguish between her narrator and character voices. This story brings wish fulfillment to anyone who meets someone they think is out of their league. The relationships were reflective of real life. This is a very good romantic story with enough mutual pleasure scenes to portray the people and relationships as complex and human. It’s the emotions of the protagonist and her thoughts that engage the reader or listener and make you want to keep reading or listening to see what happens next. This is a book laced with romance and adventure, danger, and humor, all interwoven beautifully with a dash of myth and legend. The scenes of myth and legend while briefly dipping into another culture were particularly enjoyable. The story is complex yet easy to follow whether reading or listening. This book is good as a summer romance on a beach or a winter fireside read (or listen), I recommend this book and look forward to the others in the series.

Binged This One !!!

Didn't plan on finishing this one in a day but the story was so gripping that I didn't want to stop listening. Great scenes and really diverse things happening throughout. Shocking at times! The narrator was really great and easy to listen to. I loved her different character voices. I will defiantly check out more title from this author and narrator!

Enjoyed Lauren's Perseverance

I have wanted to read this series and Audible allowed me to make the time to listen to it while traveling. I felt Lauren tried to rebuild her life after wrongly accused of being involved in a military explosion. I felt she was overwhelmed after loosing her security clearance and job. Enjoyed being involved in her bad and good decisions and the fling and eventual relationship with the unexpected celebrity. Look forward to the others being released on Audible.

What was this?

I almost gave up about 1 or so in, after an hour of talk about teaching yoga. I wish I would have. I don't understand how this book was listed in mystery. Yes, her husband dies, but the book isn't about his murder or trying to solve it. It's not actually about anything, and there's no ending. I first thought this book just needed a good editor, but no, it should have just been scrapped.

Book description is misleading

I got thru 10 chapters before I just couldn’t take any more. Yoga? Movie stars? And one cryptic line at the end of most chapters to alluding to something.....no idea what. One of the worst books i have picked up in years.
