Publisher's Summary

Looks can be deceiving....

Hardheaded Junior Agent Cassidy Dancer has come face to face with the powerful false prophet of the insidious Palma Christi Cult. Not what she intended. She’s always believed she was every bit as good and twice as tough as most men. Until now. Bound to Lucien Cain’s punishment board in his barn, she’s about to be disciplined. The iron brand is blistering hot. There is no hope in sight. Not this time.

He’s no hero....

Not Jude Cannon. He’s just an accountant and a desperate father. The only reason he’s inside the cult is to rescue his daughter. He can’t take chances, and he certainly can’t blow his cover to help the woman caught in Lucien’s evil snare. The woman with big, brown eyes brimmed with tears she won’t let fall. The one who needs a white knight on a white horse to ride in and save her. Jude is not that man.

Wonderful!

Cassidy “Butch” Dancer is a tough independent agent however she is also prone to being impulsive and stubborn and when she decides to go against orders she ends up in the hands of the cult she is supposed to be rescuing a woman from. Along comes Jude Cannon who is undercover posing as Jude Clark looking for his daughter. Jude is just an account and certainly doesn’t consider himself brave or anyone’s hero however that is exactly what he ends up being. I loved the way Ms Winters used an everyday guy as the hero in this story. It was suspenseful, emotional and exciting; and yes, as usual, I shed some tears! Troy Duran once again does a fabulous job with the narration bringing the story to life and making the listening experience so enjoyable. This was yet another wonderful addition to this amazing series!
