Love Sherlock

This was such a cute story and other than a couple of curse words, could playing in the car with my children with me.

Zack, the main character, reminds me of my grandpa.....just kind of behind the times (doesn't know how to use a cell phone and all of the uses it can provide), and just kind of simple, who is a recent widower and adopts a Coorgi, Sherlock. Sherlock is a great detective and is pointing Zack in the direction of finding clues to solve the puzzle of who is trying to frame him for murder.

The narrator did a great job, but did speak kind of fast on several parts.

I received this book for free from the author through Audiobook BOOM, but that had no influence on the content of my review.

pretty good

The dog is fun and Zack, the main character, is very funny. Overall, it's entertaining.

The big wrap up with the killer was ridiculous, but that's my only complaint. I'll listen to the next one for the smiles and hope for a better finale.

Great Dog-Cozy Mystery

First off Jeffery Pole is a new author to me. This book is the first in this fun series. I so enjoyed the wit and humor of the lead character Zack Anderson. Then there is his corgi what for it... Sherlock yep the dogs name is Sherlock. I found this cozy mystery so fun I can't wait to read the next in the series. Bob Johnson does a great job of narrating this book too. Just a no nonsense kind of voice that helps to deliver the wit and humor well. If you are looking to be entertained by a book look no farther this is it. I was gifted this audio book with the understanding I would leave an honest review.

Such a fabulous book.

Honestly I have always had a hard time finishing books, but the Corgi Case Files have kept me interested, invested in the characters and wanting more. I own 2 Corgi's of my own, Sherlock and Watson are the written copies of both.

Corgis Rule!

We have here a sad-sack widower who tragically lost the love of his life six months ago and takes advantage of an inheritance to start over. Suddenly he finds himself a dog owner and up to his neck in trouble--and he hasn't even been in town for 24 hours!

Perfectly narrated by Bob Johnson, you could be actually listening to the voice of our hero as he shares his story. Murder, mystery, humor, romance . . . and dogs! What more could you want?

it was okay

The corgi character was great; and I like the gal who owns the cookbook/cookware shop. Some parts of the book were enough to draw you on for a while. But the big reveal felt rushed, like the author ran up against the publisher's deadline and had to get something on paper.

My biggest issues with the book were with some of the main character's comments. He is a bit judge-y. He seems to get hung up on one of the characters and is uncomfortable, partly because he can't determine their gender right away. And there were a few minor things that could be seen as a tiny bit sexist.

Corgi named Sherlock!

Zach Anderson inherits his late wife's aunt's vineyard in Oregan. Within a few hours of moving, he finds himself the new owner of a rescue dog - a Corgi named Sherlock. (Adorable!) Unfortunately, he also is the target of a bitter Abigail who wants the vineyard, gets drawn into a murder investigation, and is searching for a lost sculpture. I like how Zach "breaks the fourth wall" and addresses the readers directly. The cast of characters is colorful and the setting (small town, vineyards) adds a lot of texture to the story. I'm looking forward to the next story!

Smart corgi, dumb owner

Narration was difficult to listen to. Main character was unrealistically dumb for his age. Corgi was the redeaming character.

case of the one eyed tiger

Widowed suddenly and at loose ends, our hero decided to leave Phoenix to start over dinner where else. He arrives in a town, PV (Palm Valley) to find himself becoming an adoptive daddy to a corgi, a murder/robbery case where he's the prime suspect and the owner of a winery.
