When Wilford Thomas killed a robber in Victorian England he became worried about being hanged for it. He chose to flee and the place he chose was America. He was fascinated with America and the fats draw he practised had caused the problem. He could draw his pistol and fire quickly. unheard of in Victorian England. He climbed off the stage in Redwood, his chosen destination, to witness a murder. He was in his suit and unarmed but he still walk up to where a young girl stood behind the dead man. As he walked she started trying to get the man's pistol from its holster to shoot the man who had killed him. The man had started to turn away but now drew his pistol and warned her that he would shoot her if she did not stop. As she pulled the pistol out, Will arrived and snatched it from her. After that they became firm friends, especially as Will killed all three of the men who tried to kill her.
