Twenty-two-year-old Garnet Adams longs to marry and have a houseful of children. Forced to support her widowed mother, she embraces her role as a teacher, although the Carrie Town board of education's rules for female teachers leave no opportunity for a social life. She contents herself playing the violin at church. Tall, bearded, and rough around the edges, Deputy Noah Scott would rather hunt than socialize. Garnet thinks he’s a rude, insensitive drifter, and Noah's sure the last person he'd want to court is a schoolmarm - especially with her unladylike sneeze.

Publisher's Summary
After the deaths of her mother and stepfather, 20-year-old Carol Stone finds herself in reduced circumstances with two younger siblings to care for. The suggested marriage of convenience is out of the question, so she stalls for time. When Carol learns she is the sole heir of a small home in Carrie Town, a newly expanded railroad village, she throws caution to the Texas wind and packs her bags.
Though warned of the extreme change in lifestyle, she's shocked at the smallness of the Sunday House. And why didn't she think to ask about indoor plumbing?
Leaving her lifestyle of shopping, lavish parties and holiday endeavors for a simpler life is a temporary solution until she can make a match of her own design. Carol struggles to let go of the past, embrace the present, and hope for a better future. What she doesn’t bargain for is the handsome livery-stable owner, who understands the true meaning of family and Christmas. Will love conquer lavish?"

Heartwarming
A sweet read about Carol who finds herself raising her younger brother and sister. Not wanting to marry the person she is being forced to consider, she leaves and starts a new life with her siblings. However, the home is nothing like the elaborate things she knows. However, through friendly neighbors and a small town, she finds not only love and acceptance but also a new set of values.
The narrative was done well.

Another great romance by Kimberly Grist
There is something about a Kimberly Grist but that leaves me in all of her talent. Her characters are so likable and some very lovable AN her books seemed well research for a romance novel and as far as Carol’s choice goes I highly recommend this one. When Carol is given the option of marrying her step uncle‘s business partner who is not someone Carol sees her self falling in love with she takes her brother and sister and moved to the one home that was left to her by her stepfather in Cary town Texas. Four away from her step uncle’s business partners advances and ToRaise her brother and sister and relative peace and safety. That is until she meets Mark Montgomery at the train station he is there to take her to her new home his good looks are the only thing shocking though when they pull up in front of the itty-bitty house which they call a Sunday house. Due to the fact it is just a little house of family 💘to raise her brother and sister and relative peace and safety. That is until she meets Mark Montgomery at the train station he is there to take her to her new home his good looks aren’t the only thing shocking though when they pull up in front of a itty-bitty house which they call a Sunday house. Due to the fact it is just a little house of families could come to town on the weekend to go to church. This little house isn’t going to be the only thing she finds herself falling in love with, but will it all be enough to keep her in Cary town? This book was so good and I highly highly recommend it and of course Jay Scott Bennett doesn’t narration and he is so so awesome at it. There is nothing bad I can say about this wonderful book.

Family is love
I enjoyed listening to this book. The narration was good. Carol is only 20, when her mother and stepfather die, and she now has the responsibility of taking care of her siblings. At the reading of the will, she learns she is the owner of a small house in Carrie Town. Oh boy, and when she sees the house the first time, the house is the smallest one she has ever seen. She is used to a big house, with lavish parties and going shopping. Carol is met at the train station by Mark Montgomery and wow, first impressions. She must remind herself, that her priority right now is her family. But with God's help, Carol will have to make a choice and you will have to read this great book to find out the results.

Christian Historical Romance
Another inspiring story by Kimberly! I love the children’s understanding of the Christmas story and Charles Dicken’s A Christmas Carol! The desire to give more than receive is definitely something we all need childlike faith to practice and humbly accomplish! The family’s kindness to all they meet is extraordinaire and should definitely be emulated! The narration was skillful and peaceful! A calm voice that relaxes the listener and pulls you in!

Simply Wonderful
Sometimes what the heart truly needs is right there in front of you. It may take you awhile to recognize it though.
Kimberly Grist has woven such a wonderful story of Carol, a young woman left to take care of her two young siblings after her her parents and step father have past away. She is pushed toward a marriage of convenience but makes a choice to go live in a house that was left to her in Texas. Her thoughts are to only stay for awhile and come back soon.
They are picked up by a Mark, a handsome gentleman who takes then to their home. The home is very small but she determines to make it work and more than that, she meets Mark's amazing mother and family.
With the voice of narrator Dave Cruse, who was truly amazing and the words of Kimberly Grist, this story warmed my heart and brought to mind what is truly important in life and the real meaning of Christmas with the Joy we can find everyday. I cannot wait to hear more!
