About the Performer
David Tennant, one of Scotland's greatest ever actors, has won acclaim from audiences, critics, and fellow professionals all over the world for his outstanding and award-winning performances on stage and screen. He is most well-known for playing The Doctor in Doctor Who, his lead role in the British TV series Broadchurch, and for his numerous wonderful stage performances with the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (RSC). Rose promptly gained notice in another TV production, playing the rebellious housemaid Gwen in the first season of Downton Abbey, and then starring in HBO’s Game of Thrones as Ygritte. Rose also landed roles in the British film, Now Is Good, opposite Dakota Fanning, Jeremy Irvine, and Paddy Considine and opposite Harry Treadaway in the indie film, Honeymoon, which premiered at SXSW. Rose is in the cast of Agatha Christie's Death on the Nile, directed by Kenneth Branagh. Rose can be seen opposite Jack Huston in The Great Fire, which was inspired by the events of 1666 when nearly half of London was destroyed in less than a week. She also appeared alongside Vin Diesel, Michael Caine, and Elijah Wood in The Last Witch Hunter, a thriller based around the struggle to defeat the combined forces of the most horrifying witches in history. Rose starred in the two-part TV special of Luther, alongside Idris Elba and Laura Haddock, and also stars opposite Kate Mara and Anna Taylor-Joy in the Fox feature, Morgan, directed by Luke Scott. Other TV appearances include The Good Fight, spin-off series of The Good Wife, opposite Christine Baranski and Cush Jumbo. Rose was listed as one of Screen International's UK Stars of Tomorrow.

Very atmospheric & unique!
The dramatization lent a really interesting perspective to the scenes that I really appreciated - it was very different from a typical audiobook, but once I got used to the format it was awesome!

Great version of a classic horror story
I'm a sucker for classic vampire stories, of which this one is a fine specimen. Curious and haunting little mystery with all the tragedy and sexuality that once was associated with the vampires. Audio dramatisation is excellent, really enjoyable. It was hard to pause listening, and even when I had to, I found myself thinking of the story, eager to hear the rest of it.

Not bad just not my thing
I suppose for a lover of history and/or the era of history in which this story takes place, this is a fine book but not exactly what I enjoy. Nothing bad to say here necessarily, the speech was rather dated and the accent at times was hard to understand, but as a period piece that's to be expected. Not displeased to the point of wanting a refund, however it did take me quite awhile to finish it. Indifferent is the word that comes to mind.

Precursor to Dracula
Sheridan Le Fanu was a great friend of Bram Stoker and although this story was written long before Dracula, it is easy to see that it influenced Stoker. Great story

Outstanding!
This haunting vampire story is absolutely brought to life in this Audible version! I was absolutely captivated and hardly wanted it to end. Carmilla is one of the best vampire novels ever written and the cast of this production honors it beautifully.
