An enjoyable listen

I enjoyed listening to Capturing Faith. I would love to listen or read more of this author. I thought the characters were believable and the plot flowed. It has lots of wonderful moments, some very sad moments, and redeeming moments as well. It is a story that will pull at your heartstrings. I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys this genre of book. I enjoyed listening to the narrator's voice. I thought she did a good job at reading the book and bringing life to the story.

Great story!

I started out listening to book two of this series and was a little spoiled by that narrator. in comparison, this narrator was a little clunky and spoke in an odd way, but it wasn't too terrible.

I did struggle with getting a sense for this book's third rail, there were so many characters (I had trouble keeping the girls straight) and none of the original scenes seemed to be moving the story forward in any organized manner. There were a few things that jerked me out of willing suspension of disbelief, mostly things the adult characters did or said that didn't seem realistic.

About the halfway mark, things picked up though! I knew I liked this author, so I stuck with it because she tells a good story.

While I disagree with some of the theology contained in the book, I do think it is perfectly fine and on the level of YA or younger. :)

The stakes in the story were set very well and it highlighted some important issues for teenagers to think about. Overall, it was a fun ride! I would recommend starting with book two, Twisted Faith, and listened to this one as a prequel.

I received this book for free in order to review.

The Best of the Best

I received this audiobook free for an honest review. Loved this book. This book would be great to use in a teenage school study group. In this time of identifying bullies, the high school primadonna, is a bully (Chelsea). The other group, the God kids, are her, and her group's, target. This story covers the transition or progression of a troubled kid to her introduction and growing faith and the effect of/on her peers. This is a very emotional and informative story. Loved the story, the author and the narrator.

Religious beliefs examined and a simple accident

This story is of teenagers, their beliefs, insecurities and mis-judgement in their ability to monitor their own behavior, in this instance, an example of the over use of caffeine.
An examination of the manner in which a belief in God, and how to best help others find their way to believing, is all interwoven with the lives of High school students and their everyday life dramas.
Also, there is a stark reminder of the excess of drugs and driving can have dior consequences, and it may not just affect the person driving.
I found the first half heavy on the religious messages, but as the tale unfolded, the reason for this becomes clear.

Inspiring

What about Randi Larson’s performance did you like?

The performance was very age-appropriate for YA & was engaging.

Any additional comments?

These are the type of books teens need to be sure & incorporate into their listening and reading repertoire (collection). Choices need guidance & her faith helped guide her through the story.

Amazing story that every teenager needs to read

The perfect book for my teenage daughter to listen to. I loved each character and there Christiananity that they weren’t shy of announcing. It showed us readers it doesn’t matter what you believe in that everyone goes through something in there life and need that one person to help. Definitely a amazing audio book. Narrator did amazing job!

A refreshing Listen. Just what I needed!

Capturing Faith
By Victoria Schwimley

Capturing Faith was refreshing; just what I needed to hear! I love that I could listen to this book with my daughter in the car. She loved the story too, which was a plus. She was actually in a hurry to get in the car with me “so she could see what happen to…!”
I loved how Schwimley introduced and developed each character. She executed the story perfectly; not over or under written. There’s just the right amount of suspense. I found Capturing Faith to be a smooth and pleasant read. I give it 5 Stars and can’t wait to read (or listen to) the next book.

Great story and narration.

Great for teenagers and adults too. The story was well written. The narration is great. A story involving the normal life of teenagers. Teenage school groups, religion, choices and some hard lessons learned. Keep listening the story grabs you as it gets farther along.
