Loved it!

At a time when so many erotic romance books tell such similar tales, this is refreshingly different. I love the characters, the story, the heat, and the perfectly imperfect (as it should be) ending. And Philip Alces did a superb job narrating this haunting tale. I look forward to more offerings by this talented team.

It is a collaboration between Natasha Knight and Trent Evans. If you are familiar with Trent Evans writing then you can tell his style in this book. It is a bit darker and harsher then you would expect from a Natasha Knight book. I loved the relationship between the characters and they way their emotions and feelings were told. It is a wonderful dark, but not to dark read.

This was a great listen. Dark and intense. Not your hearts and flowers kind of story but one that grabs your attention and doesn't let you go until the very last page. This is one of my Favorite Natasha Knight books and my first Trent Evans book. This book rocks.

This story was good. Had a few boring parts but the sexy parts were great.

scary, yet somewhat sexy

I can't honestly say that I "loved" this book... however, it was very well written, with excellent depth of characters (or shallowness, as appropriate ...) and performance. My dropped star is my own fault, since I didn't pay attention to the title. I am not, as a rule, a fan of captivity and/or near-rape romance, though I was ALMOST taken in by this one (hence the 4 stars) . I could totally relate to the character's roles, and fell into the believability of the scary plot. I thoroughly enjoyed the performance. The voice actor is a good one, not too ostentatious, yet able to switch easily and recognizably between characters. My only beef with it was the non-consensual part. I do love consensual BDSM, but this one went a little bit further. I'm sure there will be many readers/listeners that will love this story. ****I received a gratis copy of this audio book in exchange for an honest review.*****

Read the book yes, but the audio not so much because it could have been better. It was good to hear it though.

Natasha Knight other book I have Retribution, because it was it the same narrator that did this book and I just wish he could be more darker in there kinds of books of hers.

Lake because he MORE better playing the guy then the girl.

None it was just a good book to start with me getting to know what Natasha Knight writing is all about.

Captivating Read

I am a fan of both of these authors and this book did not disappoint. It is a fantasy and should be treated as such. The book is well-written and takes you on an erotic ride you're not soon to forget. Warning: This book contains non-consent and lots of anal so readers who are enjoy that will find this a thrilling and enjoyable read. Not your run of the mill romance, but perfect for those who love dark erotic suspense.

I love Dark Dark Romance novels.

This book most definitely isn't for the faint at heart. As long as it's a fantasy and not real its okay. Most of the comments are a bit over the top.
I get why some would feel the way they do but this isn't the Darkest book I've listened to.
I do however feel the warning should have been more elaborate for those who can't handle really dark Romance books such as these so it prepares thoee whp can't handle them.

Darker than some not as dark as others

I’m not sure why so many reviews made this sound so horribly dark. It is dark, as the genre implies, and while it is darker than some stories it’s not nearly as dark as others I’ve listened to. Perhaps since the Dark Necessities trilogy by Felicity Brandon and the Sell/Buy/Own My Soul trilogy by Jade West are at the top of my favorite listens I lean a bit differently than other reviewers. 🤷‍♀️ Regardless, I thought the book was okay although the rambling repetitive inner dialogues did tend to make it drag. The plot was a little far fetched but the sex was hot. Anyone considering this listen should keep in mind that it is only fantasy and the title makes it rather clear this is a captive theme. It includes extensive spanking, D/s, non and dub consent, anal, humiliation. Punishment seems to be the main theme and quite frankly given how spoiled snotty and bratty Lily was I wasn’t sure he was hard enough on her. lol Obviously no book is for everyone so hopefully this review will help you decide if this title is for you. I found it entertaining but others might find it triggering. I do wish it had a dual narration and really would have preferred a different narrator altogether. I just don’t find Philip Alces a good fit for this genre. That’s just my opinion though and you may love his portrayals!
