After having returned from captivity, Martha Hazlett agrees to marry Jacob Fite. Jacob and Martha leave Jamestown and sail for England so Martha can confront the aunt and uncle who mistreated her, and claim the inheritance her dead parents left. While in England, they stumble into a case of political intrigue that reflects on them badly.
