Publisher's summary
New York Times best-seller. Over five million copies sold
For David Goggins, childhood was a nightmare--poverty, prejudice, and physical abuse colored his days and haunted his nights. But through self-discipline, mental toughness, and hard work, Goggins transformed himself from a depressed, overweight young man with no future into a US Armed Forces icon and one of the world's top endurance athletes. The only man in history to complete elite training as a Navy SEAL, Army Ranger, and Air Force tactical air controller, he went on to set records in numerous endurance events, inspiring Outside magazine to name him the Fittest (Real) Man in America.
In Can't Hurt Me, he shares his astonishing life story and reveals that most of us tap into only 40 percent of our capabilities. Goggins calls this The 40% Rule, and his story illuminates a path that anyone can follow to push past pain, demolish fear, and reach their full potential.
An annotated edition of Can't Hurt Me, offering over two hours of bonus content featuring deeper insights and never-before-told stories shared by David. Not available in other formats.

Story
For decades we've been told that positive thinking is the key to a happy, rich life. "F*ck positivity," Mark Manson says. "Let's be honest, shit is f*cked, and we have to live with it." In his wildly popular Internet blog, Manson doesn't sugarcoat or equivocate. He tells it like it is - a dose of raw, refreshing, honest truth that is sorely lacking today. The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck is his antidote to the coddling, let's-all-feel-good mind-set that has infected modern society and spoiled a generation, rewarding them with gold medals just for showing up.

Inspired by the physical challenges of stalking elk in the Oregon wilderness—traversing mountainous terrain, braving erratic weather, and evading his quarry’s even more dangerous predators—he began an ever-evolving journey of self-improvement. To become the best bowhunter of wild elk, to the caliber he believed he could be, Cam realized he would need more than archery skills.

Money - investing, personal finance, and business decisions - is typically taught as a math-based field, where data and formulas tell us exactly what to do. But in the real world people don’t make financial decisions on a spreadsheet. They make them at the dinner table, or in a meeting room, where personal history, your own unique view of the world, ego, pride, marketing, and odd incentives are scrambled together. In The Psychology of Money, award-winning author Morgan Housel shares 19 short stories exploring the strange ways people think about money.

Looking into the mirror...
Holding yourself accountable. David Goggins is an American Hero. I am grateful to him and others for serving our country and fighting for our freedom. Thank you David for telling it like it is and showing everyone else that they are their own hero, they are held accountable. Celebrate your small successes and get after it, just understand it will be the hardest thing you have ever done because you are in your own way. No excuses, doesn't matter who you are. Period.

Absolutely loved this book
I was a little disappointed at first that Goggins wasn't going to be narrating, but that changed almost instantly. Loved the format, loved the extra conversation between chapters, so happy I decided to go with the audible version first. I'll be buying a hard copy in the future

Tugged at my heart
I this book five stars across the board because of the similarities of David home life to own with regards to levels of mental and emotional abuse. My maternal grandmother was my sister and I abuser when our mother wasn’t around for reasons I will not share here.
I found a lot of my courage to with stand and rise above it by reading Batman comic and watching Star Treks with Mr. Spock, half human half Vulcan, real in his emotions episode after the episode.
Realizing there are other Black men walking this planet mastering their minds and beating the odds of defeatist thinking plus achieving seemingly impossible feats in doing because of Mr. Goggins story has given me a boost to continue pushing past pain of different types towards dreams of my own which seem impossible to bring to fruition.

I'm in absolute awe of everything that Mr. Goggins has been able to accomplish after listening to his life's story, and I plan to follow his advice for the rest of my life. Well done!

It’s Not Hyperbole To Say This Book Will Change Your Life If.....
It would be hyperbole and lying to claim this book will change your life just by reading it and (very important) not applying anything you’ve heard. However; Mr. Goggins revelations about the human condition and potential are life changing for those who are open to receive its message and apply them to their own struggles.
Beyond that Mr. Goggins story is nothing short of unbelievable; and that’s not hyperbole either.
