Great But One Thing

Although the book is amazing, Tally’s parents really need to do a better job to help her get through life. A suggestion is to talk to the school and write a special guide to the principal to pass on to all students. Awesome book but more detail has to be established between Tally and her parents.

Highly recommend

I loved this book. The story and perspective were wonderful. I think this should be required reading for all neurologically typical people, but especially teachers and family members of neurologically divergent people. Middle schoolers would probably really enjoy this book because it’s written by someone their age, which is amazing, and it makes the book and situations very relevant. My middle school self would have loved this book. The authors made every character SO relatable and I wish it had been around for me to read when I was younger. I loved it. My NT 7 year old loved it. My autistic 6 year old had no comment, but he did dabble with a British accent after listening:)
I highly recommend this book!

this is such a great book about a PDA autistic kid

I wanted to treat it before I gave it to my daughter, in case there's any negative messaging about pda. and there is, at first, but it's resolved at the end. so it's realistic about the impact and struggles of PDA, but also points out the positives, and they still to outweigh the negatives by the end. I think it might be empowering for my daughter, and I know it will at least be validating. I can't wait to share it with her!

Great for kids’ understanding

My nine-year-old, who had ASD, specifically asked me to leave this review. It is the first review she had ever left on any book: "This is a statement from Izzy. I really enjoyed this book. It was brilliant and I learned way more about autism than I thought possible".

[Dad says]: High praise indeed. I think my daughter maybe learnt more about herself than she thought she would. That is worth its weight in gold.

A must-read story

This story is great on a number of levels- as a helpful insight into what some autistic children may be feeling, (although everyone is different), how to react through different experiences, and the all- difficult transition to secondary school, and the story line itself. As I have an autistic 10 year-old daughter, I made all family members read (or listen to) it as well. Thank you for writing it.

An incredible eye opener

As a parent of a daughter living with autism this seemed like a must read, I am so glad that I did. Never have I read something so helpful that I felt I could relate to but with a new level of understanding. I'm not perfect and I won't always get it right, but I feel more confident after reading this that I can support my little girl on a stronger level now. thank you for sharing your experience and putting it together in such an engrossing format. Didn't want it to end

What a beautiful written and read book. I fall asleep when reading so audible is perfect for me! The reading of it was brilliant! The story broke my heart and I hope that others will read it or teachers may read it to their class, so more people don't have to hide behind a mask.

I just didn't want this book to end its charming.

I got this book because I wanted to understand more about autistic children and what an amazing book this is.

Beautifully narrated, charming & emotional.

While I had to persist at the beginning, it quickly grew on me and I just didn't want it to end.

It really makes you feel and empathise for the the characters and they were portrayed beautifully (the educational message certainly gets across).

I can't praise the narrator enuph - she was first class!
