Publisher's summary

At eight years old, Tuesday Storm's childhood is forever lost when the death of her older sister Audrey sends her family spiraling out of control into the darkest of dysfunction. In the wake of the tragedy, Tuesday's mother, distraught and looking for a scapegoat, singles Tuesday out from her siblings to take on the blame for Audrey's death, and then targets her for unspeakable abuse. Almost overnight, the loving environment Tuesday has come to know, becomes an endless nightmare of twisted "games" and sadistic punishments as she's forced to confront the cruelty lurking behind the beautiful face of the mother she idolizes.

Based on a true story, Call Me Tuesday recounts with raw emotion a young girl's physical and mental torment at the mercy of the monster in her mother's clothes - a monster she doesn't know how to stop loving. Tuesday's painful journey through the hidden horrors of child abuse will open your eyes to what could be going on behind your neighbor's door, while her unshakeable love for her parents will tug at your heartstrings.

Heart breaking, but I couldn't stop listening!

What made the experience of listening to Call Me Tuesday the most enjoyable?

I was able to listen to the whole story in full during my drive from Northern Idaho to Southern California and the story was so compelling and so heart breaking that I had to pull over a few times just to cry. This story is written in a way that grabs your attention and instantly makes you feel for Tuesday. The things that happen in this story are terrible and so very sad, but I had to listen until the very end. I had to know what was going to happen!

What does Allyson Ryan bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Great voice for this story. Very calm, very sweet. I felt like I was listening to Tuesday herself.

What’s the most interesting tidbit you’ve picked up from this book?

I am excited to read the next book, Call Me Cockroach, because I was a little disappointed with how the whole story ended. I hope that it goes into more depth and answers a few questions that I had after finishing.

Great narration!

I think the narration added a lot to this book! Very well done!! The book itself was also great. The author did an amazing job of allowing the reader to feel her pain without going into too much graphic detail of abuse. It is a sad story but I am amazed at how the author handled living through it. A very strong woman! Thank you for sharing your story! I recommend this audible!

Really good! Talented writer & reader!

Be sure to read this one before Call Me Cockroach! So sad, but really makes you reflect & think about what some children have to go through!

Heartbreaking with an exceptional narration.

The tragic story had me in tears during many occasions. While it provides details of this little girl's heartbreaking childhood, it does not focus on them for the sake of gore.

Heart wrenching story

A heart breaking tale of child abuse and systematic failure to protect the narrator. Reading through the sorrows, struggles and desperation a victim of child abuse has. Learning to persevere and fight to a better tomorrow. This book is hard to put down.

Heartbreaking

This book really touched me.
I have a son who is 13 years old and has no use of his arms or legs, very similar to Audrey and her needs. I cried for both the girls. I cried for their family.

A disturbing tale

A disturbing reminder of my life as a little girl. This book brought up so many confused emotions that I thoroughly enjoyed it. I am so grateful to the author for telling her story and sad that she endured the abuse.

Harsh realities

Any additional comments?

Call Me Tuesday is based on the author's life. Ms. Ryan did an excellent job narrating this story making it possible to feel Tuesday's pain. Even though the circumstances of Tuesday's life are so horrid at times, she is strong, she is a survivor. Having already listened to this book twice, it is one that I will listen to many times over as each time my admiration for Tuesday grows, realizing just how much she has had to overcome.
