Joe Buck is on a collision course with a life-altering event. He’ll need to rely on his skills to survive the catastrophic EMP about to unfold as he’s working behind the scenes at his blue collar job at the Super Bowl. Breakout country singer and small-town girl Lexi Carter is on the same trajectory. She has just finished singing a well-received rendition of the National Anthem at the Super Bowl. The crowd is raucous. The performances were meticulously rehearsed, finely tuned down to the second, and should have gone off without a hitch. Except for one surprise glitch: an EMP.

Story
This new stand-alone survival thriller thrusts the most dynamic city on Earth, New York, into darkness as North America is bludgeoned by the sun's ferocity. Scientists promised a beautiful aurora providing the city that never sleeps with magnificent hues of blue and green. For three days, New Yorkers took to the streets, parks, and rooftops to enjoy the awe-inspiring spectacle. As the power grid failed, the city of New York collapsed with remarkable speed. The thin veneer of civilization was laid bare as man fought one another for survival.

Story
When the pandemic hit, nobody was expecting it to be as bad as it was. The economy barely survived the lockdowns, but it staggered along until civil unrest shattered people’s hope of better times to come. With it being an election year, more and more Americans were waking up to the idea that they truly were behind the curve. The hope was if they did not get sick, run out of money, or could avoid violent mobs, they would be fine.

Hugh of Singleton, fourth son of a minor knight, has been educated as a clerk, usually a prelude to taking holy orders. However, feeling no certain calling despite a lively faith, he turns to the profession of surgeon, training in Paris and then hanging out his sign in Oxford. A local lord asks him to track the killer of a young woman whose bones have been found in the castle cesspit. She is identified as the impetuous missing daughter of a local blacksmith, and her young man, whom she had provoked very publicly, is in due course arrested and sentenced at the Oxford assizes.

Story
Genghis Khan was born Temujin, the son of a khan, raised in a clan of hunters migrating across the rugged steppe. Shaped by abandonment and betrayal, Temujin endured, driven by a singular fury: to survive in the face of death, to kill before being killed, and to conquer enemies who could come without warning from beyond the horizon. Through a series of courageous raids, Temujin's legend grew until he was chasing a vision: to unite many tribes into one, to make the earth tremble under the hoofbeats of 1,000 warhorses, to subject all nations and empires to his will.

Publisher's Summary
At the edge of the wilderness, far away from the big city, nothing bad could ever happen in such a protected place...or could it?
Jake and Mollie Caldwell started their small farm and homestead to be able to provide for an uncertain future for their family, friends, and community. They have tried to plan for everything, but they never imagined this would happen.
In this chaotic new world, where nothing is normal, easy, or safe, will Jake and Mollie’s family be able to make it to the safe haven they have provided? Will the Caldwells’ planning, provisions, and faith be enough?
Caldwell’s Homestead is the first installment of the Havoc in Wyoming Christian Futuristic series. If you like mysterious apocalyptic events, fast-paced adventure, and plausible situations, then you’ll love this pause-resisting series.
Download today and discover why listeners love this twist on the post-apocalyptic genre!
The Havoc in Wyoming series has been described as “cozy” apocalypse and contains no profanity, gratuitous sex scenes, or overly detailed gruesome death scenes. However, it does contain conservative family values and references to God, prayer, scripture, and Christianity.

Good listen, but STOP the chapter assignments!
All things considered, this was an enjoyable listen. However I know it's been the "style" to write/perform books with each chapter from a character's viewpoint. That's not bad in printed format. But these audiobooks are usually performed by 2 or more narrators, so the performance subsequently suffers because a character's lines may be read by more than one narrator - it sounds SLOPPY! I prefer that a narrator read the character(s) assigned to them regardless of the character assigned to any given chapter. This provides a continuity to the story that is otherwise lacking. Don't you prefer a narrator who can perform with excellent "voices" for each character, rather than just straight reading the book?

Pretty mundane for a EOTW story.
Really drags. Really not liking the parts of the adolescent boy thoughts. The narrator isn’t so great either. If you like at least some action, a main character that isn’t dull, then this isn’t for you. Returned,

A good Preparedness story!
I was introduced to the author at an event and was curious about her book series, so I went ahead and listened to this book. Well… now I am anxiously awaiting the rest if the set to he on audible, as I don’t have time to sit down and read.
I really enjoyed the “prepper nuggets” that popped up. The characters and their stories are intriguing.
I was fascinated by the two narrators and the concept. They both did a great job!
Standing by for the rest of the books on audible…
