Publisher's summary

The biker gangs passing through Lobo Norte don’t scare Ofelia anymore. All those men are the same: scarred, homeless, and broken…just like Ofelia. They’ve become a blur of forgettable faces watching her strip. She takes off her clothes, takes their money, and wipes them from her memory instantly. But Trouble is different. A biker with a wolf tattoo and tortured eyes, he sees beyond Ofelia’s tough disguise to a more fragile woman within. She’s drawn to him like she’s never been drawn to a man before - at least, not since she survived hideous torture at the hands of her ex-boyfriend that left her scarred physically and emotionally. She can’t forget Trouble. And she definitely can’t push him away. There’s magic between them that neither understands. But maybe if Ofelia and Trouble can find the truth, they can release each other from the chains that bind them to Lobo Norte, to the Fang Brothers biker gang, and to the dark.

Decent Read

I enjoyed the book well enough to read the next in the series. I think that will tell the tell of if this is going to be a series worth reading to the end. Ophelia is a strong female character, I hope that as the series progresses Trouble continues to develop into a stronger character.

Not your average Paranormal Romance & werewolves

Review Synopsis
Ofelia is a broken women in so many ways and living in Logo Norte in a biker bar trying to save enough money to move on to a better life seems a life time away. Scarred from the abuse of an ex boyfriend she is finding the strength to live an independent life and never be used like that again.

She strips for tips and doesn’t mind the men who eye her up an go for a grope every now and then. Little Bo Peep, her shotgun, is always on hand if things begin to get out of hand.

Then Trouble lands in town with a biker gang and the instant attraction is electric. He has a wolf tattoo, tortured eyes and shifts into a wolf on the full moon. Not your perfect relationship, but what is.
The biker gangs descend on Lobo Norte for a competition of cage fighting and the winners are turned into werewolves. Humans line up to be accepted, well most of them anyway. The Fang Brothers is a biker gang that want werewolves as slaves, for sex and food, because they can recover fast from wounds and have great stamina.
Ofelia remembers the Fang Brothers for inflicting the scars she now carries after her ex sold her to them.

Review

Wow! Was my first thoughts when starting to listen to Caged Wolf. This is my first book by SM Reine and I had no expectations beyond it is a paranormal romance with werewolves. It was dark and disturbing in parts, but very real. I was completely drawn into Ofelia’s life and could picture the surrounds and the rich characters.

SM Reine doesn’t spoon feed the reader at each step of the story, but leaves a lot untold, which I actually really appreciated. It made me hungry for more and to keep listening to find out more about Ofelia, how Trouble became a werewolf, and what had happened to Ofelia to have damaged her so much. It was a refreshing take on a story.

There is danger, suspense, tarot cards, magic and a mystery as to what Ofelia is if she’s not human.

This is the first book in The Tarot Witches series and it definitely sets the scene for a lot more to come.

I will be looking out for the next in the series: Forbidden Witches, The Tarot Witch, book 2 and suggest if you like Caged Wolf you will love more of SM Reine.

The narration was done by Pyper Down and was clear and easy to listen to with the changes in character more of a pitch than an accent. Having the story requiring me to concentrate to keep up it was easy listening to Pypers’ voice in her American accent an easy listen.

Good story

The story was pretty good. It gave me Quentin Tarantino vibes, especially with the ending, which was enjoyable. The main downside was the odd pace and inflection/emphasis of the narrator. Her voice was pleasant, but something in her delivery screamed "trying to hard" and odd.

despite a few bad reviews I enjoyed it

The narration was good. Cooper and Ofelia resonated with me and I would like to hear more about their search for the tarot cards. I will read/listen to more by this author.

what a crazy paranormal adventure!

I was so confused in the beginning but I stuck with it... ended up liking the book! I really didn't like the Fang Bikers... but Trouble aka Cooper won me over... the smexual heat in this book borders on angsty as nothing really seems to happen until way... way into the book...but it was well worth it! Nice mystery adventure throughout the story with finding the meaning behind the tarot card that just won't go away!

Narration was pretty good... many shift in voices...no two characters really sounded the same... Down is one of my favorites.

Nice credit or sale...
