Publisher's Summary

One summer. One touch....

Cadence Riley didn’t have time for boys - no matter how potent their smiles were. School and working at Camp Riley were her only priorities. She knew better than to fall for someone like Fitz Quinn, the spoiled, bad boy son of a wealthy politician. But the second he spoke to her, she knew she was in over her head. He was a gorgeous trouble maker with a cocky attitude. Her heart warned her, but she didn’t listen. There was something protective and good beneath the bad boy exterior that made her insides flutter. Before she knew it, she fell hard and fast.

Fitz wasn’t prepared to meet a girl like Cadence. She was shy and innocent - and nothing like the girls who usually flocked his doorstep. How could he resist her mile-long blond hair and emerald eyes? He knew he shouldn’t want her. His father already had other plans for him, and a relationship with her could never go beyond the summer. He thought their stolen kisses by the lake were only supposed to be a summer fling. Falling for her shouldn’t have happened. But it did.

Now the clock is counting down until Fitz has to return to the life that awaits him in Washington, DC. As September draws closer, how will they survive the end of everything they’ve come to love?

Not in anyway what I expected!!!

It was so much more! The bombs that were dropped in this book came out of no where! I though I knew what was going to happen but my thoughts were squashed into the ground with fury! I was completely blindsided and even though I was a bit "ragey" at the time, I now loved every minute of it. The wait for book 2 is going to kill me but it will all be worth it to find out what happens between Fitz and Cadence! The narration is amazing! Lacy Laurel and Zachary Webber make a great team! 🎧AudiobookObsession

Summer Lovin’

Going in to a book knowing that it’s a duet is always a danger, but Dakota Willink didn’t disappoint in the slightest. Cadence was supposed to be spending a quiet summer. She has her schooling and the camp to fill her plate, but fate has other ideas in the form of Fitz Quinn. Fitz should be hands off with his penance for finding trouble. She finds it impossible to ignore his charms, protective tendencies, and hidden good soul. Fitz has a path that had been drawn up for him before he even had a chance to want anything else. He knows he should avoid the sweet and innocent Cadence Riley and just put in his time at the camp without a scandal. He finds himself irrevocable drawn to her even knowing it can never be more than a summer fling. Their life and love may be fleeting together, but there are just something’s worth the inevitable heart ache. Narration- Lacy and Zachary brought these two to life. Get ready for chills as they bring to the surface all the feels that are so prevalent in this story.

Sooo Good!

Let me start by saying it took me several days to get my head around this book and be prepared to write my thoughts. From the beginning of the book, I had an idea of where the book was going to end but Dakota never failed to leave me guessing. I had a love-hate relationship with this book - don't get me wrong, I loved it! But I was so frustrated at times for the characters. I have so many parts of this book that stuck with me. I find myself recalling them and getting emotional all over again. The characters were easy to connect with yet so complex. I loved the chemistry and dynamic that Dakota gave us. I don't want to spoil the story for anyone so I will just say, I loved it and I hated it! But- Book 2 will be out in just a few weeks - which is perfect as I need some processing time. Can't wait to continue this amazing story. Narration was fantastic. Lacy Laurel and Zachary Webber gave amazing performances. They were a pleasure to listen to and really brought the characters to life. Loved it! 🎧AudiobookObsession

Just when I thought I knew what was happening

Dakota Willink is a new author to me and although I have listened to narrator Zachary Webber numerous times, Lacey Laurel is relatively new to me. Cadence Untouched was certainly brought to life by the narrators who did a fantastic job. This book was not like I expected; just when I thought I knew what was going to happen, boom I am thrown totally for a loop. Despite herself Cadence Riley finds herself falling for bad boy Fitz Quinn and he is equally attracted to her even though they both know that it can only be temporary, This book was not like I expected; just when I thought I knew what was going to happen, boom I am thrown totally for a loop. I really cannot wait to find out what happens in the second book. #AudiobookObsessionReviewer

Breaking my Heart

This is my first book from Dakota and it was so good! I didn’t realize it was a duet and now I need book two to see how it ends!! I do think however the heroine is very naïve and annoying at times and the heroine ticked me off a few times but overall you can feel the connection between these two and that is awesome. The twists and turns were so unexpected and I felt heartbroken for them.. I cant wait to see how life ends up for these two! The narration is really good. As always ZW delivers on every single emotion! This is my first for lacy, it took a bit getting used to but she grew on me.

I love Cadence!

Ok. This story.. was a wonderful listen! Cadence is deep and very level headed. She knows what she wants and goes after it! I was not sure about Fitz at first.... he made me question. I was so anxious for the story, and anxious to find out what happens, and... you’ll have to read or listen to find out what happens. I will tell you, it’s worth it!

First love and heartbreak

🎧Audiobook Obsession 🎧 Exceptionally well written. Cadence and Fitz had me swooning and on the edge of my seat for most of the book. So much twist, drama, and angst. I had a love/hate relationship going on throughout. What an emotional ride, I love books like these. Fantastic narration, Zachary Webber and Lacy Laurel performances were amazing. Now on to book 2 of this amazing story.

Fill Your Heart, then Find the Pieces

This is the story of Cadence and Fitz and their heartbreaking, breathtaking, earth shattering love. The narrators were PERFECT, the story line keeps you pulled in from the beginning and makes you feel everything from joy and love to heartbreak and despair. Not gonna lie by the end there were tears! Dakota weaved a beautiful story of first love, being swept away by each other, and then the heartbreak of reality and the world crashing in. The characters are dynamic, and there are unexpected twists. I love that we get to see the romance unfolding from both points of view! Dakota does a marvelous job of dividing the story to get both sides without making the story feel bogged down or forced. I would definitely suggest this audio book to anyone!

Cadence Untouched

Both Zachary Webber & Lacy Laurel are new to me narrators. While I really enjoyed Zachary Webber's performance, I was not as happy listening to Lacy Laurel. Although her performance was flawless there was something about her voice that I just can't properly describe. That is more of a personal preference so other listeners won't have the same feelings about that. After the intro to this book I spent the whole rest waiting to get back to what was happening. Because of this anticipation I felt like the rest of the book kind of dragged on. After finishing it, I realize that it was a great build up to book 2. It was the background that this couple shared. I loved how they met, how they changed over that summer. So many people talk about summer romances or summer flings as inconsequential relationships but this relationship literally changed their lives completely. Cadence and Fitz meet at a Music & Arts Summer Camp. Cadence's family owns the summer camp, and she has spent her summers running it all her life. Fitz is there as sort of a punishment. Hes to spend the summer volunteering at the camp, then he is to be married, all because of a college mistake. Cadence doesn't know Fitz's story, only that he is a spoiled rich kid as she calls him. Over the summer, their feelings for each other will change and grow. But at the end Fitz must leave her behind. #AudiobookObsession 🎧AudiobookObsession

***sigh*** there are no words

This might just be one of my most favorite stories (no other words will do). Just wow. I thoroughly enjoyed this story. Dakota Willink just wrung me dry. It was such a sweet emotional story that had me just in my feelings. Cadence and Fitz have got to be one of the stories i most enjoyed. The narration was on point. Zachary Webber and Lacy Laurel make an awesome team and gave this story another layer of awesomeness. All in all, a definite must read.

Sweet first love.

I enjoyed this well written first love story between two endearing characters, though I was frustrated by the prologue giving too much away and would recommend skipping it if you want the story to unfold naturally. Cadence and Fitz are wonderful characters who will stay with me. As usual, Zachary Webber gives a stellar performance with his narration. Lacy Laurel leaves me wanting and at times made it difficult for me to listen to an otherwise enjoyable story, but she is a favorite of many so I think this is just a personal preference of mine and shouldn’t be a deal breaker. The story is well worth the listen. #audiobookobsessionreviewer

Book #1

I really enjoyed this book. Young man in trouble and having his live figured out for him. Young lady has everything figured out and works hard at everything. This is the first book in this series. So make sure you have “Cadence Defined “ ready to start as soon as this one ends. The dual narration was great! I definitely recommend this book. 🎧Audiobook Obsession

Great set up for the 2 book duet

This was a sweet young adult story. Cadence and Fitz met when Fitz had to go to her family's camp as part of his penance for a really bad situation. Though initially Cadence isn't a fan of him, he gets through to her and he seems like a great guy who is in a bad spot. This is the first book in the duet and the second book is much longer so I think this is really meant to be a set up. And it was an emotional set up that really showcased how sweet Cadence is and what a great couple they COULD be, if they weren't facing these obstacles. The narration was great. I really loved Zachary Webber's voices and his emotion. Lacy Laurel also did a wonderful job playing all the characters well with emotion. I think they were a great pick to really reflect the major characters and the supportive characters. 🎧AudiobookObsession, AudiobookObsessionReviewer

I Cried, A LOT 😭

Dakota Willink, "Where's my HEA???" My Heart is broken 💔 right along with Cadence. Yes, I went into this knowing there was a book 2, but I didn't know that I would be crying as much as I am with book 1. I am just emotionally distraught with how this had played out. I know neither one went into it thinking this is how it was going to end up. I'm so upset that he kept that secret from her. He should've told her up front, but things would have gone totally different. Let's get on to book 2. I will say before we do Lacy Laurel and Zachary Webber, you guys are killing it in the narration. (YEAH) It's so real, so emotional, so Cadence and so Fritz that they have come to life. Of course, I recommend this book and I recommend book 2 and I haven't even gotten to it yet. #AudiobookObsessionReviewer🎧

This book is amazing!!

I cannot believe this is the first time I have read Dakota Willink!! I need more of her books. Cadence Untouched had everything!! Scandals, cover-ups, sacrafices, and most of all, true love is all found within this story. Cadence is so strong. She is the best heroine I have read. She loves hard and loyal. I cannot imagine spending a life wishing, yet she not only does that but has a great life too. Fitz is weak. He succumbs to his father's wishes too easy. He sacrafices true love because of his weakness. But his life has its own struggles. This book captured my heart and my mind. I got so lost in the story, I forgot to do my housework. But I warn you to have the second book lined up. One is not enough! Zachary Webber and Lacy Laurel bring this story to life. Fitz goes through some tough struggles and Mr Webber's performance brings all the emotions to the reader. Fitz has many different sides, and Mr. Webber easily creates him as I imagined. I have loved everything Mr. Webber narrates. Lacy Laurel is the perfect Cadence. Strong yet naive at times, Ms. Laurel creates the perfect heroine. Cadence is so loveable and the reader feels all of her emotions because of Lacy Laurel's performance. This is well worth the listen.
