Cobb is attacked in bars, attempts are made on his life, he becomes a fugitive from justice and he is suspended multiple times for his retaliatory and headstrong play.
In Book 2, more clues emerge that lead Savannah Cain, the beautiful and talented sports journalist who befriends Ty Cobb, to suspect that Cobb may actually be the supremely talent college baseball star, Chase Ripley, who disappeared near the same time as the hit-and-run accident. Book 2 races toward a thrilling climax which sets the table for the final book of the trilogy.
