A Great way to get prepped for your CDL!

First of all, the link to the study guide PDF is in the library section on the desktop version of the audible website, not on the app or the mobile site. Not sure why folks have so much trouble finding it...but any ways...here's a detailed review to let yall know what to expect. Overall, I must say I found this be a great way to get prepared for the written Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) exam, as well as the road test that will need to be completed before you obtain your CDL. Coupled together, this audiobook and study guide manual offered an extensive amount of material to help prepare for the larger exams that will be taken in each particular state or states, to obtain the different classes of licensure for the CDL. Though simply reading this study guide will help to move through the material quickly, pairing the study guide manual with the audio of the test preparation is essential and was a more strategic way to learn this amount of complex material in an efficient amount of time. Disbursed throughout the audio section of this test preparation, were helpful anecdotes and ideas to help not only guide me being prepared for these exams and it also helped guide me through the process of making commercial driving a rewarding career choice. These helpful anecdotes are not in the manual itself, making the audio portion of this guide indispensable to getting all of the information you can when getting prepared for the CDL exams.
The first ten pages of the manual include specific information that covers topics such as DMV’s in each state, endorsements for your CDL license, physical requirements for the job, ways to become disqualified from this career, and emergency protocol. These sections in the manual seem brief, but when accompanied with the audiobook, add a much more detailed look into each of these areas. Additionally, these first ten pages include helpful websites, easy to reference abbreviations, reminders about disqualifications, and essential information about emergency equipment that was easy to access while listening to the audiobook, as well as for later reference.
The final pages of the manual are “end-of-summary,” note pages that help guide studying while listening to the audiobook. The headings of these summaries helped to streamline the information that will be in the audio portion of this study guide. Because the audio version is much denser than the manual itself, these headings and moreover, the questions that accompanied this portion of the manual, helped to make the studying process much more effective. This content included ways for the reader to easily guide themselves through the reading and pull important points from each section that helped immensely on the final 100 question exam at the end of the course.
In the audio portion of the guide, there are twenty chapters that the narrator goes through. All of these chapters are supplemented with material from the manual that was easily accessed when the narrator pointed to the specific pages in the manual. Most of the audio sections range anywhere between fifteen minutes to one hour long, with each chapter ending with a ten question, non-multiple-choice quiz. By not using a multiple-choice style quiz to check yourself at the end of each section, the narrator explained that this approach is utilized to help the student “know the answer for the multiple-choice written exam without seeing the answer first.” Because the actual written exam will be in a multiple-choice format, this freestyle approach that they utilized, really helped to effectively assess my strengths and weaknesses throughout the course. The way these questions are presented and then explained at the end of each chapter, allowed for a much more updated method to retaining all the facets of information that this course offered. Also effective, is the narrator’s voice in this particular audiobook; his voice was familiar and friendly, allowing for a well-paced experience while listening to the audio portion of the guide. Whether you are following along with your manual or driving to work, the audio portion is accessible to all types of learners.
Particularly helpful about the audio portion of the guide is the way it began. The narrator explained the different career choices that having your CDL offers. Because there are different classes of licensure and career paths under a CDL, discussing why commercial driving may or may not be a good fit for me, as well as different options that fall under the umbrella of commercial driving that will fit into my expectations with this career choice, was helpful to consider when initially starting the studying process. The narrator especially helps to tease out the positives and negatives of commercial vehicle driving, which was helpful when deciding if moving forward is the right choice in pursuing the CDL written exam. Another helpful portion of this study guide is near the end of the audio version, when the narrator discussed what to expect and helpful tips for taking the actual written exam. This section was a great capstone to the course and allowed me to make necessary connections between the study material and the actual exam. Whether you are taking a standardized test for the first time, or for the first time in a long time, this course offers helpful tactics to passing your CDL exam.
Unlike other forms of test preparation, AudioLearn’s approach allowed me to have access to much more information in an efficient amount of time. This particular audiobook and study guide compilation was easy to listen to and to follow along with. The casual tone of the narrator of the audiobook portion of this test preparation, was very accessible for all levels of students that would be preparing for this exam. This is a great product for both audio and visual learners because of its mixed mediums. By utilizing the studying tools provided at the end of each chapter in tandem with the federally approved information about getting your CDL that AudioLearn provides, made for an approachable study guide when preparing for the written CDL exam and the road test. GOOD LUCK!!!

Helped me Pass

This was a good informative book that helped me pass my tests. It contains general knowledge on laws, so you will need to get a copy of your state CDL book and read it to understand how your laws differ. Something they suggest themselves a few times. However, I listened to this over and over while driving for my job and it helped cement a lot of core components of the subjects that I passed the tests with flying colors when I took them.

If you are looking to get a CDL and spend a lot of time in your car driving like I did, this book will not let you down.

One week of listening everyday at work to pass!

I listened everyday at work for a week and I passed the DMV test the first try. The trick is to listen to it until you memorize it lol. Some chapters made no sense the 1st time listening but after the 2nd or third time they clicked for me.

The best thing about it was the guy reading it. He wasnt boring and sounded like he actually enjoyed reading the material which made it easier for me to listen to.

Thanks!
