Bustles & Blunders

A Delightfully Daft Time Travel Romance

De: Tuppy Bramble

Narrado por: Shelly Weingart

A delightfully daft time travel romance—perfect for fans of tea, trifle, and temporal trouble.

Lottie Birch was having a perfectly ordinary Tuesday until a suspiciously juddery marmalade jar hurled her straight into 1897—smack in the middle of Queen Victoria’s Diamond Jubilee rehearsal. In her pyjamas.

Mistaken for a saboteur, rescued by a civil servant with more secrets than sense, and rapidly inducted into a society of time-confused women with a taste for blancmange and espionage, Lottie soon finds herself waltzing through puddings, pineapples, and portal-related peril.

Armed with nothing but her museum ID, a sarcastic pigeon, and a talent for flustering bureaucrats, Lottie must stop a treasonous trifle, locate the legendary Portal Key, and figure out why Tobias Bramble’s umbrella keeps appearing in her dreams.

Bustles & Blunders is a laugh-out-loud romantic romp through time, packed with absurd adventures, corset catastrophes, and one very determined dessert. Perfect for listeners who like their historical fiction served with humour, hijinks, and a splash of jam.

Witty

This audiobook was witty and unusual.I enjoyed the musical choices for each chapter. This whimsical time travel book was brilliantly narrated by Shelly Weingart.

Creative, Wacky, & Zany Time Travel

This story was a little difficult for me to review. It is extremely creative in the world(s) it created yet, therein, was my difficulty. On the one hand I found it to be so creative and so unusual that is also where it almost lost me. I came back and listened to it again and listened a bit closer. It is definitely a cozy mystery that dessert chefs or aficionados may find it to be a rollicking good time. I, however, found myself trying to figure out what some of these concoctions were rather than immersing myself totally into the story. Hence, my dilemma....the story is well crafted and quite ingenious, so story rating needs to be along those lines. The narrator does a good job with it as well, so that gets a good rating. I, personally, just had a difficult time because I am a stickler for knowing what words mean rather than simply going with the flow and enjoying all the creativity. So, if you immerse yourself into the wackiness of the book and simply enjoy it you will find it is an interesting cozy mystery with many zany aspects.

Comedy

Bustles & Blunders by Tuppy Bramble is an excellent romantic comedy. Shelly Weingart did an incredible job with the narration. The story is entertaining, interesting, cute, wholesome, comedic, romantic, and more.
