Publisher's Summary

Marketing is shrouded in arcane mystery and buzzwords. It frightens many and bewilders others. Yet every business, from the hand-car-wash by the side of the road, to the world's most famous brands, engages in marketing every single day. This is an essential, reliable, speedy and up to date guide to the most robust and important concepts in marketing. This book shows you how to understand and do marketing without having to study a degree or a diploma in it. Along the way it shows you what has been learned about marketing over the centuries, what experts can teach us that we can use ourselves, how marketing has changed in our new ‘digital' world, and how to avoid classic mistakes.

In short, this is all you need to know about marketing.

Very up to date

I like this audiobook because it's very up to date in an industry that's rapidly changing. It's dry at times but useful if you're looking for a deeper understanding of marketing.

Exactly what you need to know!

Authoritative, engaging and up-to-date. Great as an introduction, refresher or a resource to inspire new thinking on a current challenge. Would recommend highly.

Really not very good. Too much theory

[{ "answer" : "I feel the writer was just writing in theory, talking about theory models of marketing. Which is fine to a certain extent although most of it was just waffle, nothing practical that can be used. Theory on its own is useless.", "type" : "Overall", "question" : "Would you try another book written by Simon Middleton or narrated by Lucy Paterson?", "id" : 226, "typeString" : "overall" }, { "answer" : "Too much waffle and nothing practical", "type" : "Story", "question" : "Would you recommend What You Need to Know About: Marketing to your friends? Too vague

Very disappointing book. As a marketer this book was too vague and looked at marketing from a text book angle rather than the real world Give this one a miss.
