After extensive original research and a decade as the world's highest-paid performance coach, Brendon Burchard finally reveals the most effective habits for reaching long-term success. Based on one of the largest surveys ever conducted on high performers, it turns out that just six habits move the needle the most in helping you succeed. Adopt these six habits and you win. Neglect them and life is a never-ending struggle. We all want to be high performing in every area of our lives. But how?
The Brave Athlete solves the 13 most common mental conundrums athletes face in their everyday training and in races. You don't have one brain - you have three; your ancient Chimp brain that keeps you alive, your modern Professor brain that navigates the civilized world, and your Computer brain that accesses your memories and runs your habits (good and bad). They fight for control all the time and that's when bad things happen. What if you could stop the thoughts and feelings you don't want? You can.
After Eric Davis spent over 16 years in the military, including a decade in the SEAL teams, his family was more than used to his absence on deployments and secret missions that could obscure his whereabouts for months at a time. Without a father figure in his own life since the age of 15, Eric was desperate to maintain the bonds he'd fought so hard to forge when his children were young - particularly with his son, Jason, because he knew how difficult it was to face the challenge of becoming a man on one's own.
Direct, blunt, and brutally honest, Tim Grover breaks down what it takes to be unstoppable: You keep going when everyone else is giving up, you thrive under pressure, you never let your emotions make you weak. In "The Relentless 13", he details the essential traits shared by the most intense competitors and achievers in sports, business, and all walks of life.
You cannot bounce back from hardship. You can only move through it. There is a path through pain to wisdom, through suffering to strength, and through fear to courage if we have the virtue of resilience. In 2012, Eric Greitens unexpectedly heard from a former SEAL comrade, a brother-in-arms he hadn’t seen in a decade. Zach Walker had been one of the toughest of the tough. But ever since he returned home from war to his young family in a small logging town, he’d been struggling. Without a sense of purpose, plagued by PTSD, and masking his pain with heavy drinking, he needed help. Zach and Eric started writing and talking nearly every day, as Eric set down his thoughts on what it takes to build resilience in our lives.
This mindset and these exercises will help you build everlasting self-discipline and unbeatable willpower. Imagine that you have this rare kind of power that enables you to maintain iron resolve, crystal clarity, and everyday focus to gradually realize all of your dreams by consistently ticking one goal after another off your to-do list. Way too often, people and their minds don't really play in one team.
Your best intentions are not enough. Learn how to scientifically engineer a disciplined existence, become relentless, and never give up. Whatever you want in your life, self-discipline is the missing piece. Goals will remain dreams if you make the mistake of relying on motivation and your best drawn plans. The Science of Self-Discipline is a deep look into what allows us to resist our worst impulses and simply execute, achieve, produce, and focus. Every principle is scientifically-driven and dissected to as be actionable and helpful as possible. You'll learn how top performers consistently exercise self-discipline, as well as what drives us on an instinctual, psychological level to act.
Front Sight Focus is a concept and mindset that is used by US Navy SEALs to plan and achieve success on and off of the battlefield as it reveals 10 phrases that lead to efficiency at all levels of learning, training, and productivity! By using an easy to implement, common-sense approach, the author presents the tools for establishing a "front sight focus" mindset that shows you a plan of progression that will lead you to establish a system for attaining your ultimate success in your life's true passions.
The concepts of mental toughness are simple to understand and, with the right mind set, are easy to implement. Richard Bond's aim is for you to take the understanding you gain from this book to train your mind, just like you would in any other discipline. Knowledge on its own is not enough; you need to practice. For example, you might know how to perform a bench press, but that alone won't allow you to bench 500 pounds. You need to train, rest, grow, and adapt over time to get to that level.
Study three easy fundamentals and make them a habit, and you have a recipe for sustained success no matter what hurdles life throws at you. This is a story of a small boy, scared and alone in the world, who ran away from home at 16, overcame numerous hostile environments to pursue his dream to become a Navy SEAL, and eventually became the naval special warfare sniper course manager (head) instructor. The lessons learned along the way were powerful.
Ray Dalio, one of the world's most successful investors and entrepreneurs, shares the unconventional principles that he's developed, refined, and used over the past 40 years to create unique results in both life and business - and which any person or organization can adopt to help achieve their goals.
We are stuck, stymied, frustrated. But it needn't be this way. There is a formula for success that's been followed by the icons of history - from John D. Rockefeller to Amelia Earhart to Ulysses S. Grant to Steve Jobs - a formula that let them turn obstacles into opportunities. Faced with impossible situations, they found the astounding triumphs we all seek.

What quality content may exist in this book is occluded by terrible narration. The reader runs words, sentences, and even chapters together, so there are few natural pauses. This makes the whole thing seem like one run-on sentence. The reader also has odd inflections and pronunciations (beyond minor Canadian accent pronunciations).
The book itself could do well with far less of being an advertisement for the author’s other books, trainings, and camps.

Too many lists too keep track of. should simplify, consolidate where there are similarities and then tell the story. Each chapter has its own unique list. I don't have the capacity of attention span to remember them all and the book doesn't sell me to do so.

What did you love best about Unbeatable Mind?
learning from the firehose of proven technical knowledge on mindset, goal setting and problem solving.
Did the narration match the pace of the story?
Narration has more than a few obvious fails - but it does not impact information transmission. This book is all about cramming info into a small space - it seems intended as a starting place to develop solid practices....
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
the swiss army knife of overcoming perceived limitations
Any additional comments?
Remarkable information in a distilled form - continually the book refers to a workbook that IS NOT part of available downloads that I can find.....which kinda sucks.

This is a Re-read type of book , a hooked on phonics read along type of book , and a journal-growth to mastery type of book . I loved it !!!

Very good, a must read!!! Lots of information and advise. I would recommend this for every one who is interested in taking control of their future.

There is a *lot* of really good stuff in here, useful insights, profound observations and practical advice on team building and mind control. The relentlessly macho tone of the author began to weary me after awhile though, hardly a page will go by without words like "mission", "warrior" and "SEAL team" abounding. I suppose the author is trying to rid mental health training of the "sissy" image it has to some people, but it became a little over done IMHO.
I would listen to it again however. There is plenty of universally applicable wisdom to gain from this book even if you're not part of the testosterone fueled world the author is coming from.
Narrator is fine.
Great tools and analogies to help you develop an Unbeatable Mind no matter what your walk of life. Practical exercises and a road map I'll be suggesting my teenagers use to help them to grow into confident young adults
quality content, make use of it. audio recording was a bit lack lustre, even some dialogue mistakes in editing? but fine.
