Publisher's summary

If you put "business books" in the Amazon search bar, you really do get more than two million results. There's a lot of information out there, but how useful are most business books to your particular needs? Some not so much, we expect, but you do need this one - we guarantee it. We're so convinced The Savvy Manager will help you - no matter what your business or what stage it's in - that we're offering a money-back guarantee!

It's not a how-to book per se, yet it tells you how to do so many things! Hiring and firing, for instance; reading people; identifying nonproducers; cutting expenses; knowing what your customers need; and, most of all, growing your business. It doesn't tell you how to start a business, yet listening to it will make doing that so much easier. It doesn't tell you how to run one, but even if you've been a COO for 30 years, you'll find new wisdom in it. It's not a blueprint; it's more like a bag of missing puzzle pieces - the puzzle being the day-to-day job of making your business lean and profitable.

It's worded in the bite-size chunks made famous by executive summaries, perfect for business owners and managers with far too much on their plates - you can eat on the run, so to speak, and take in as much or as little as you can handle at a time. You'll find yourself listening again and again.

You need this book now if you're:

  • An entrepreneur
  • A manager
  • A future entrepreneur or manager
  • The owner (or aspiring owner) of a start-up
  • Even vaguely thinking of starting a company
  • The COO of a mature company with a lifetime of experience

A well presented audible book full of valuable insights.

I enjoyed the vocal presentation by John Edmundton. The author, Lee Pyror has a wealth of experience and provides valuable insights into managing small and large businesses.

enlightening for the novice

i am a beginning business owner and enjoyed the tidbits of information that applied to me like when he recommended to take your rmployeees to lunch each day and to be available for questions and concerns..
overall i thought the book would have more information and it was very boring to listen to for the narrater was very monotoned and wallstreet like with dry humor.
id recommend this book for someone who is in their early stages of business
